“Governments must ensure that their major cities receive the financial support they need in order to thrive , because it is primarily in cities that a nation’s cultural traditions are preserved and generated .”



In contemporary society ,the major cities always be the center of its countries on science , economy and the politics. However ,it is always true that big cities of a country boom not only in economy but also in traditional cultures .

Along with the development of the economy around the world , a myriad of new big cities which all are distinguished on their brilliant economy make out all the time .However , cities should not only famous with their better life ,high gallery ,etc ,also should be great with their traditional culture which were from the father or the forefather .Proof of being both famous in traditional cultures and economy can be found by simply glancing at the history .Firstly ,look at the Chang An in Tang in ancient China, one the greatest city in the world at that time ,it was regarded as the heart of the earth with its high level economy, and also it had preserved and generated traditional culture from the dynasty before in which people all had a long hair tied and tootsies prevailed in women.

Moreover, on the other hand ,in a contemporary city BEIJING which will hold the 2008 Olympic Game is the capital of China with a long history that it just like a small China . But it has been developing greatly in harmony with economy and the culture . Every year the government will have special budget on preserving and generating the fragile culture, so that we can also climb the Great Wall and do shopping in the beautiful Wang Fujing Street .People also can enticed in conventional Beijing Opera and  drunk with modern Opera House. People also can find Quadrangle here and as well as lots of skyscrapers here. How can people from all the world attracted to be here? By financing the need of Beijing ,contemporary and modern factors can be concordant in one city ,that’s the key.

Indeed ,in some major cities ,where have less culture traditions ,they create better environment for development .Many new cities in Western America ,like Tennessee .Maybe they have been founded within a short time ,but many years later ,if the posterity want to see the culture from his hometowns, what can we do to meet the need ? So our government should pay more attention on the program ,so that the offspring would be very proud of their hometowns .

By the way , culture traditions are not all preserved  in major cities , they are also found either small cities or villages and towns .In spite of not being major cities , the places where culture traditions generated and handed down generations must be financed by the governments too .

A great city is not only a economic center , it also should has its own culture traditions indeed . In order to improve the world ,to meet the need wanted by the offspring everyone ,every nation should do their best to afford the need from the cities with great culture.
