Issue130 How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.

I do believe that socialization of children today determines the destiny of society tomorrow. However, the reality of children's socialization is not so optimistic because educators, parents and communities have not yet learned how to raise children be more socialized in the society.

Admittedly, nowadays, the society is governed by a group of preeminent adults, whether in politic realm or in economic realm. It is true that human are mortal, lives are passed down from one generation to another; Thus the development of society shifts away correspondingly. Children today are adults tomorrow, preeminent students today are societal elites tomorrow. Therefore, in this sense, children are the nucleus and backbones of society. Their socialization trend determines the destiny of society. If their behaviors and beliefs are go wrong with legal moral and value, such as addicting in PC video games, abusing drugs, being violated and even shooting in school, all of which would make society dusty. On the contrary, if their behaviors and beliefs are go along with the society, as trying to be creative, initiative, diligent, and critical in study, and be tolerant, benevolent, and generous to others, the perspective of social development would be prosperous. From all above, then we can say socialization of children determines to the destiny of society.

Now that the socialization of children plays a vital role in the destiny of society, it is important for us to raise them in a healthy way so that they can bring a bout a better society. Undoubtedly, an efficient way to raise children become more socialization is through education, which educators, parents and the community must involve in. However, they are failed to do so. Education in china is a typical example which can shed light on the situation.

Firstly, educators in china do not find an effective way to impart knowledge. They always put too much emphasis on memorizing facts mechanically rather than creatively, their pedagogy is more inclined to test-oriented than quality-oriented. Admittedly, this pedagogy has advantages, from which children learn a myriad of facts which are helpful to their future career, but the fact is that high grades with low capability contributes little to children's development in the fierce competition. Children are not isolated, there are socialized in the contemporary world, society is the place where they put erudite knowledge into practice. Consequently educators had better concentrate on students' capacity as well as knowledge.

Moreover, parents and community in china do not pay much attention to children's socialization either. Parents in China nowadays are care too much about their children. In order to be more capacity, children are sent to special training schools to get extra education in weekends, which is the most important time for they get in touch with the society. Nevertheless, Parents ignore that harmonious and mischievous playing  are children’s instinct. Excessive restriction may lead things to go to the opposite side; closed minds may be deserted by society. One the other side, community does not set up a healthy study environment for children, especially for those in the rural areas. Where a great number of children are out of education due to their poor family condition, and schools always could not get the financial aid from government. City education problem for children is that the complex social environment for children is not so healthy, violation and other additions affect their regular study. Therefore it is urgent for government and communities to focus the financial aid on education in  rural aresa and build up harmonious surroundings for city education.

In sum, since socialization of children determines the destiny of society, educators, parents as well as communities have the responsibilities to educate children, and they should pay much more attention to the sound and qualified ways of raise children. Otherwise, the society may become worse and worse.
