STUDENT TIME COMMITMENT
Students are required to work for 40 hours per week throughout the program. For most of the time, students should be conducting research in the faculty mentors’ laboratories, except for the times when they are attending the following program activities:
* Student Orientation and Welcome Reception (July 12)
* Weekly Professional Research Development Course (every Wednesday 9-11am with a few additional times for tours of campus research centers)
* Interdisciplinary Research Symposium and Graduation Ceremony (Sept 8)
Unexcused absence(s) may result in incompletion of the summer research program. A student needs to receive approvals in advance from the faculty mentor and the Research Director for any excused absence.
