2003年大学本科被拒两次，70-80名左右大学的化学系，那个化学系很有名。然后到新加坡念硕士。今年去uw madison，6月9日回北京签证被拒，因为签证官不信我在新加坡念书。6月29日在新加坡签，顺利过。新加坡的签证官非常的专业，nice,一直在看我的材料。我9：30进去的时候，看见一个我认识的女孩在7号窗口，被check,然后就是我，10点从大使馆出来。

V: What is your name?

V: So you hold a student pass?
M: Yes, would you like to see my student pass?
V: No, thanks. Why you apply your visa last time in Beijing?
M: I consulted the embassy, because my passport is issued in China, so I went to Beijing to apply my student visa last time. I was rejected because the officer did not believe that I was studying at Singapore. First, she asked me why I did not have a student visa of Singapore on my passport, I told her Singapore did not have such a student visa on passport but instead a green card, student pass. I showed her my student pass but she said she did not believe it. Second, she asked me why I only took two courses on my transcript, I told her that NUS only required two modules for a master degree since most of the time we are doing research, but she said it is not possible. I showed her all the documents, while I think it is because she is not familiar of the situation of Singapore. Finally she let me apply my visa at Singapore because Singapore knew my background much better.     
V: So you will stay in US for four years?
M: four to five years for my Ph. D degree
V: So what are you going to do after graduation?
M: With a Ph. D degree, I want to become a professor or research scientist in China. My research, natural products, is about drug discovery from plants. I plan to apply this methodology to do the research of drug discovery from traditional Chinese medicine in China. The methodology is the best in US but the application is most promising in China. Actually every visa interview I talked the same plan, to use the modern technology to develop traditional Chinese medicine, because I am really very interested in this topic and all the years I am working in this field. I did the research of traditional Chinese medicine in China, and my research in Singapore and USA are all about discovery of new drugs from plants. （这个时候vo摘下耳机走了，他回来的时候我继续说了后面的）So with my background and experience, it will be easy for me to find a professor or research scientist position in China and take the research successfully.
V: (看nus给我的证明信，最后一段写着我现在正在拿着新加坡的research scholarship, 需要遵守research scholarship合同的义务和责任什么的)   do you have a bond with Singapore?
M: No, I am holding a research scholarship; there is no bond with the Singapore government.
V: How do you get the fellowship? Did you contact with any person there?
M: No, I did not contact any person. I just sent my materials to the department, and I do not know why they give me this fellowship. Maybe because I have done many years research on natural products.
V: （拿出一本敏感专业目录在查，我估计我可能会被check,就像上个女孩一样）so you applied by this travel agent?
M: yes, I submitted my materials to the embassy by this travel agent.
V: you can get your passport and visa next week at the travel agent.
M: Thank you.
