The most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives. Any leader who is quickly and easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion will accomplish little.
------正文------
I quite agree with the viewpoints that an effective leader should remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives, if he is quickly and easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion, he will accomplish little. There are several reasons I stand on this view.

Firstly, a successful leader must have his Attic faith otherwise he can not be a leader. Imagine that a person who are not confident with his faith how to persuade others to insist on the principles and objectives and follow with him? And there are many examples show us that the first thing to be a efficient leader is to believe oneself and one’s faith. If the president of Microsoft Mr Gates had been not confident with himself and potential success of operating his own company, he could have had no courage to drop out from Harvard that is a university most people dream to entry. Another typical example is chairman Mao who is the hero in Chinese people. If he had not stood on his military strategies, the Chinese people would have gained no success of Independence.

Secondly, having Attic faith help leaders operate his every policies and plans. Every innovation will inevitably meet some obstacles from external pressure or traditional customs. If a leader can not confront these difficulties and easily give up by shifts in popular opinions, there will be no achievement in his life as a leader. There is good example to testify this point. Martin Luther King, one of the principal leaders of the American civil rights movement, advocated to challenge the segregation and racial discrimination by nonviolent protest. To improve the process of democracy and gain equal rights for the black people , Mr King had met many difficulties and threats. He never gave up his faith, although he still failed to escape the destiny of assassination. Even the inscription which reads “Free at last. Free at last. Thank god almighty I’m free at last.” on his tombstone still presents his pursuit for true freedom of the black.

However, to insist on one's principles do not means that leaders have no need to take advices from others. After all, the ability of one person is limited and it is necessary to listen to advices from different people. It is especially necessary to the political leaders to hear different voices from different ranks. Because the government and political leaders should bring benefits to all people in the country and enabling every one to participate in political life is one of the goals in a democracy society.

In sum, from the reason discussed above, I have inclination to support the viewpoint in this issue. As a individual, I will appreciate the leaders who have their own great faith and can insist on the principles and objectives that they believes, and I will be prone to trust them.

上面提到 信仰的原则必须是代表大多数人的利益 的问题,我觉得加在b3就好,都是让步嘛
还有信仰的正义性,可行性等等,不要搞出阿扁那种顽固不化之人
