National governments should devote more of their social programs and services to children than to adults.

The social programs and services provided by national governments may be good resources for the people among societies to make themselves better and convenient. Whether the government should focus the emphasis on children or adults which are both the important components of societies is becoming a hot issue recently. In my opinion, either children or adults may receive sufficient social programs and services.

Firstly, the emphasis on children is worth its salt. With the years passing, current children may be growing up and become adults. Therefore, the programs and services put to children may be equal to invest in the adults in the future. Furthermore, children are just like pieces of paper which are white and without any taints on it, so they will learn and grasp as you teach, listen as you speak and emulate as you behave. As the result, the programs and services on children may be more efficient and effective, compared to those on adults.

However, it doesn't mean that there is no need, for governments, to devote their efforts to adults. Children and adults are just like the two sides of the same coin. Both adults and children are in the societies in which they can interact to each other quite frequently. And, generally, adults who always remain the role models of children may have more impact on children than the children do to them. Everyone may have the experience of growing up. During that period, no one would deny the influence the adults nearby exerted. For instant, I found my interest of computer because one of my uncles was often operating his laptop in front of me when I was young. So it's reasonable for national governments to provide enough programs and services to adults as well.

But, admittedly, children should receive more governments' attention in today societies. When you look up in the newspaper or in the everyday news broadcasted in television recently, more and more crimes about children who are under the age of 18 are seen. Why? One of the several reasons may be lack of adequate attention to children by the governments, the societies and the people around them. According to a study done by GuangZhou university, the researchers interviewed one thousand children under 18 who have once committed a crime and asked them why they did so. Sixty percent of the interviewees answered that they just, simply, wanted more care and attention from others. It is time for governments to do something to stop the children's situation from deteriorating. And one of the various ways is providing more social programs and services to them, which is a useful one.

In summary, there are still many other aspects which are related to the issue being discussed, while, unfortunately, I have not enough time to discuss all in detail. But, I believe, the above-discussed reasons may to a great extent warrant my claim that although not only children but also adults need the care of national governments by offering enough social programs and services, children may deserve more attention than they get today.
