告诉他们你对他们的program非常感兴趣，但一些别的因素（你选的学校
有，他们学校无）使你无法割舍，你也很痛苦，矛盾，但终于还是放弃了
他们的program。你感到遗憾，并非常感谢他们的kindness和sincere help，
你希望能有机会将来以某种方式与他们合作。

其实只要你真诚，你选择的学校远优于他们的，他们通常会非常理解的。
他们不会输不起的。另外，如果你迟早要锯他们，还是早下手好，这样
他们还可以抢到别的好学生，对他们和我们的同学都好。 hope it helps.

some guys in China feel it not easy to say No to professors, but in
fact it is definitely polite and respected. Professors usually will
count on an incoming student even if there's no response. At least, I
know a professor in UCSB got really mad about a Tsinghua student who
didn't response for a RA last year and never came.
Please tell your fellow "lucky bird", don't be too crazy about the
success. Your success comes from the early alumini's good reputation
here. Offending professors by not respecting their FA will greatly
impact this reputation, and further influence the upcoming
applicants.
I am serious about this because I know this happens a lot among
Tsinghua students. So please help me write something on BBS. I really
want some people to pay attention to this issue.
