It is no doubt that the use of images to illustrate a theory or project is direct and effective. People can accept and comprehend the things easily with the help of the images provided. However, without language explaining, only presenting images is far beyond the need to communicate effectively.

The images here should include pictures, videos, maps or chart, which contribute to reveal an issue or idea. It is easier for people to accept the idea with the help of images. Such as a meeting for the research of new cars, the researchers put the pictures or spec sheets of design of new types of car instantly, and then relevant staff or experts judge them from the outlook to structure and then the acceptability. It makes simper for these experts to check these cars to see the pictures of the design rather than hearing the abstruse interpretation of the researchers. These blueprints provide lively picture in expert’ mind for them to judge whether these new cars are acceptable or profitable. Then come to the travel field, it plays more powerful impact on people when they see pictures of beautiful scene personally instead of hearing the persuasive words by the travel agency. They may probably choose to go the place where they have no intention to after seeing the beautiful pictures or video programs.

The use of language plays the same even more important role in communication as the use of image. Language is a useful tool for human being. No other kind of animal has such complex and complicated system of language. And language have a great influence in people’ minds and lives. Without the support of language, the use of image itself cannot responsible for the effective communication. If the car researchers only present all design pictures of the new cars, even including the design process, it would be hard to understand totally with no word explain, for there may be some innovation in designing. Without the designer’ explaining personally, it is hard for others to aware these changes. In a similar viem(view?), without relevant explanation or introduction, people who want to travel may not know the place where the pictures were taken or the way to access that place. They may make the decision to go to that place after the staff of travel agency introduced it to them.(这个例子有点极端哩)

Finally, communication needs exchange. When addressing an idea or holding a proposal, one need to use the words to give a brief introduction on whole scale, and then use the images to help illustrating or make the whole process vivid. At the same time, communication means exchanging ideas among different people, if some of them have problems or understand the issue improperly, then the image itself simply can not solve these problems or correct their comprehension, here it depends on the person who present the idea to solve these problems and explain it clearly with the tool of language.(这个观点不错！)

In summary, image or language both are effective ways in communication. And language plays more fundamental role in communication. Combining language and image, the communication of an idea or something else would become more efficiency.
