144"It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.
正文:
The value of an art is endowed by the critic rather than its creator? In my point of view, just as the author asserts which I am totally agreed -- It is the artis who gives the life and the ever-lasting value to the art and the society, not the critic.(第一段表达有些语法混乱。比如我在百度上搜了一下没有in my point of view 这种说法,好像应该是from my piont of view)
Admittedly, just as a filter, the critics could help the mass to reveal the valuable one from the sea of arts, which will cost a lot of ordinary people's time and the consequence may not be warranted. They use their professional and particular insight to inspect every art , dig out the goodness and badness, and offer the worthful comments to the mass and the artists, by which enable the mass better appreciate an art, and at the same time, impart the useful feedback to the artists and force them to reinspect their works and make advancement in the future. Thus, the function of the critics is to call the mass's attention on the valuable arts, and provide suggestion to the artists. (我觉得你定冠词the用得太多)
However, the ever-lasting value of an art is not determined by the critics and their comments. Moreover, at certain time and certain extent, the critics actually turn out to be the obstacles in the path of the mass to understand an art.
In the respect of writings, such as novels, poems and articles, the critics play a role by whom the artists are restricted. A good article is (one)which could inflame(ignite/fire) the readers' imagination and passion. Even though the resonance may be different for a particular people could possess a particular view to the characters, plots and ending based on their sole experiences and views(Even though different people may have different resonances owing to their different life experiences adn engrained views.), it is populargenerally accepted by the mass and that indeed (有些指代不清楚) is where the value lies in. However, to a critic, a work should be expressed and ended in "that way", which conform to the special regulations and cater (to) his particular taste.(这句话也比较让人费解) The using of word, the syntax, the grammar, are probably chosen and arranged freely for the artist's improvising. All of these become out-of-rule mistakes in the critics' eyes. To imagine, if all the novels contain a same ending, if all the poems wrote in the same rigid way, is there any amusement to read them?
In the respect of music, painting and sculpture which is originated by the artists' inspiration at a particular circumstance and background. The process of appreciation is happened in the moment of encounter. We feel happy or sorrow, exultation or depression when it jumps into our eyes or ears. The same work could deliver diverse information with diverse mood or feeling. Furthermore, the genius artist usually use certain transnormal or even brand new method to translate (deliver / express) their impulsions or emotions, which, regretfully, always become the attacking target of the critics. We have no need to look further than Monnet, a brilliant French artist and one of the representatives of Impressionism (to see this point ), (?主语) suffer the critiques such as "one with negation to the beauty and truth" by the contemporary critics. For most of the critics accept the regular doctrines which is also contribute to the restriction on their acceptance and cognition. It would be boring for mass to listen the music score by score rather than appreciate the euphonious rhythm, analyze the lines and framework of a sculpture rather than try to understand the spirit, inspect every pigment of the painting rather than grasp the motif. To conclude, the critics can not act as an interpreter of the art, but a force to circumscribe the mass, and the artists. (最后不错。注意语法)
In sum, the critics are useful for society to find out the valuable works and better understand them, but not the determinant of the value of an art, which is defined by the artist, the mass and the society.
你的文章中,用mass代表人们好像不太好,而且应该换换词。比如:public, people , individuals, audiences, 等等。
没有跑题。
结构挺好的。
还是要注意语法。除非你不想要那0.5分了。 |
