For example, through the astrology or fortune-telling we can predict something about our future lives, such as marriage, promotion of the job, life-span, etc. Sometimes astrologists or fortune-tellers may tell you several methods to overcome difficulties you are confronting, even if we know that they are usually not effective. Then, we would know that future will turn better. Thus, we can be reassured from these non-mainstream areas. Another respect, non-mainstream areas also can help us satisfy our curiosity and imagination. In our cosmos, there exist many unexplainable things. Black hole is a case in point, we cannot explain through our mainstream science, yet, we can interpret the phenomenon through paranormal powers. In some respects in our daily lives the non-mainstream can really play an active role.

However, if we overstate the effect of such non-mainstream areas, we will be influenced by unduly believing the function of these areas, and may put forward hardly.
