3.但是，一些价值观需要很仔细和长时间的观察才能得到，例子：婚前性生活的调查

Could  much of a society's ideas and values be revealed by ovserving the apprearance and actions of its people?Or you can just obtain just the superficial appearance about the society but not the inside value from such observing?Any rough assertion to this complicated issue would be improper .However,as far as I'm concerned,much about the society's values and ideas can be told though observing its people.


First of all,what people likes and dislikes shows the preference of the society.As is known,a series of movies about super heros are popular and always obtain nice sales in America.Such films about superman,spiderman,batsman and so on are all revealing heros with super power to the audience and the theme of the stories are forever the same----saving the earth and aquiring true love.But the fates of such movies are not so lucky in the Chinese cinemas.That suggests a cultural difference on values between the American society and Chinese society.Americans are in favor of such stories of heros and most of them
have the dream to become a superman one day since they were young.That kind of heroism of the American society doesn't exist in the Chinese society,so the hero movies are not so popular in Chinese cinemas.You can tell this difference by observing which kind of movies the people in two societies are will to go to.


Moreover,what people are dressed on and looks like also reveals the thoughts and values of a society.In Guangzhou,a city in the south of China,people prefer to wear clothes that are loose and of large size,and the baggy clothes with hip-hop style are popular in the young generation there.So you can see crowds of baggy-style-wearing people on the streets.The original reason of the way Guangzhou people dress is that the life there is lazy and relaxed and people don't want to spend much time on preparing their wearing carefully.Baggy clothes are casual and comfortable and they totally fit the ideas about life in Guangzhou.So even a stranger here can tell this is a lazy and casual city when he observes the style of clothes most people here are wearing.

Admittedly,some ideas and values of a society are hiding so deeply that they can be tell only by extreme careful and long-term observation of the appearance and behavior of its people,or even can't be discovered by this way.The attitude torwards having sex before marriage of a society can be hardly obtained by superficially and directly observing.An investigator on this issue should broadly gather informations and carefully analysis people's conversations and actions for a long time.Sometimes he need to do surveys ,in which large amounts of people must be surveyed and the question paper must be carefully organized to make sure the result is reliable.That will cost him a lot.

As we discussed above,much of a society's ideas and values can be tell through the appearance and behavior of its people as we can get idea of the heroism of the American society from the movies people like and the casual and lazy life value of Guangzhou from the baggy-style-wearing people everywhere.Nonethless,digging some deeply hiden values of the society needs much careful and high-cost observing.
