如题:

看了学校寄来的材料发现办理social security number 需要文件:
You will need documents that establish your age, identity and lawful immigration status.

For age and identity: you will need a passport that is at least one year old AND/OR an original birth certificate of one that has been certified as original by the issuing authority.

我的护照是今年四月办的,也没有出生证,请各位帮忙,我该怎麽办? 谢谢!

social security number 就是告诉你办理需要些什么资料，刚过去F1，好像这个是不能马上办理的，所以护照问题不用担心。
不过没有出生证就比较讨厌了，没有出生证的话有公证也行，可惜你没有出生证，怎么办公证呢？这个我也不知道了。
为什么你没出生证拉？掉了？

documents required:
passport,I20,employment proof issued by the international student officer in your college. that's all.
if you do not have a job such as graduate assistant, then you will not get SSN.
if you are F2, you also cannot get SSN.
