RA positions in Micro Heat Transfer/Microfluidics at Univ. of Notre Dame

Two research assistant (RA) positions at Ph.D. level are available for students who are interested in conducting research in the area of micro/nanoscale heat transfer and micro/nanofluidics.  The research will be focused on solving thermal related issues in the microelectronics and data storage industry, as well as microfluidic and biomedical systems.  The students will study thermal transport phenomena with very small length and time scales, in particular these relevant for the design of transistors, thermal management of microprocessors, and thermal-fluid design of MEMS transducers and genetic analysis chips.

Students with background in thermal fluid science, applied physics or MEMS are welcome to apply.  The applicants need to have a M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (e.g., thermal, precision, electrical engineering, or applied physics).  Some knowledge in microfabrication will be a plus.
