As a matter of fact, there is growing numbers of public concerning over the issue whether schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers.  Some people argued such an evaluation is necessary, while others maintained students should not have the right to evaluate their teachers.  On balance, I believe these two forces can compliment each other if handled properly.

Firstly, professors, being evaluated by their students, always perform well, for they can get the opposite ideas from their students.  Prof. Black, a U.S. professor in Peking University, argued he felt excited when reading the evaluation opinions, giving out a lot of information which can help him learn how students can learn more efficient and make small alterations in his teaching.  He, for that reason, became one of the favorite professors in the university.

Secondly, students can regain their right, being neglected for a long time, to give out their thoughts.  Students in Southeast University felt delighted while firstly met the evaluation system.  Students from most famous universities, giving the right to evaluate, spoke highly of their schools.

On the other hand, however, such an evaluation may cause some problems, as well.  To some students who are comparatively young, it seems unbelievable to get the result from their evaluations for they can hardly give out a fair conclusion according to the fact.  Such elements as the results their teacher giving, will affect them a lot.  The most essential part, fair, is always neglected; therefore, the evaluation is meaningless.

In sum, some people may not arrive at the same conclusion of the complicating issue, due to their assorted experiences and conflicting values.  Nevertheless, taking into account the dimensions discussed in the above analysis, it may be the first step out of the dilemma.
