15\Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of an s good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.

Every one has a neighbor. A Chinese old word saying that ‘a relative in a far distance is not as good as a neighbor nearby’, shows that a neighbor is easier available than the relatives when you are suddenly in trouble sometimes.  Then what are the qualities of a good neighbor? In my opinion, a good neighborhood should be honest, intelligent, and have a sense of humor.

Honesty is important when getting along with neighbors. An honest neighbor would make you feel safe in your daily life. My family can be taken as a good example. My parents have dwelled in our community for more than 20years since they got married. Uncle Zhang has been the resident in this community for a long time too. Because of his honesty, we always leave a key in his family in case my family members all lost our keys. Someone maybe would ask why we dare to leave our home key to the neighbor, and the answer is that the honesty of uncle Zhang makes us to do so. What’s more, we even let him take care of our plants when we were all out on vacation.

A good neighbor should also be intelligent. I will never forget how Uncle Zhang’s wisdom rescued me when I was very young. It was in my primary school, when I played ‘hide and seek’ with my classmates in the community, I was trying to hide behind the iron narrow barrier. But suddenly my hand was tightly cliped by the barrier and I could not get out. I was so frightened that I cried out. My friend and some adults came to help me, but all failed. When my father was about to cut the barrier by saw, Uncle Zhang stopped him saying that it would hurt me easily. And then he found out some soap with some water to lubricate. Marvelously, I was drawn out easily one minute later. Don’t you think, to a certain degree is he intelligent to help me?

A sense of humor is also a needed characteristic. A humorous neighborhood would make you feel better when you are in low mood. A sense of humor also can melt a lot of disputes between the neighborhoods. In fact, in the most circs, there are no unaccountably contradictions between the neighborhood, and the controversy is always about the trifles. A sense of humor can easily let both sides of people forget about it. When you hear your neighbor saying ‘I would lash this guy if he do not stay in his prison’ while the neighbor’s cat come into your room without your permission, would you still be angry?

If your neighbor own all of the 3 qualities, the only thing you’re your should do is that thanks to god for bringing them to your neighborhood and then enjoy your life.

79. Your city has decided to build a statue or monument to honor a famous person in your country. Who would you choose? Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice.


Throughout history, there have been hundreds of thousands people who have dramatically affected the way we live today. Some of them are known as inventors, while others as prophets, politicians, athletes, etc. They are all respectable. But ，if my city has decided to build a statue to honor a famous person in my country, I would like to choose a late entertainer, Bruce Lee, whose statue has already been built at Causeway Bay, Hong Kong last September and in Montenegro of Serbia, in November 2005 to show the respect of his fans.
Bruce Lee was a world-famous movie star at his time. As a Chinese, he was born in San Francisco in 1940s and died of a hypersensitivity to hypnotic at age 33 on July 20th, 1973 while spending his holiday in Hong Kong.
Bruce Lee had done quite a good job in popularizing ‘Chinese Kung Fu’ in the movies. And, as a result of his efforts, ‘Kung Fu’, something that once had not been known by foreigners, has become increasingly popular in the whole world and this word, ‘Kung Fu’, even appears in new editions of dictionaries. His famous movies, including ‘Enter the Dragon’,’ Chinese Connection’ and ‘The Big Boss’, have left ever-lasting impressions in the hearts of his fans, not only from China but also from other countries in the world.
Bruce Lee’s life was quite short, but his influence in popularizing the Chinese Kung Fu is just like a shining comet winging throughout the sky of the history. Many foreigners think of Bruce Lee as a symbol of Chinese Kung Fu. In fact, there have been no other movie stars winning such high reputations even since his death in 1970s than him. Today more and more Chinese movies and Chinese actors enter the world movie market, a fact that cannot be disconnected with his influence.
He should be remembered not only because of his great contribution to the movies, but also his generosity. During his short life, Bruce Lee had donated huge amount of money as charity fund to help homeless children. Even after his death, a lot of his belongings have been bequeathed to help the poor all over the world.
What is more, the spirit of Bruce lee can bring the harmony of a whole country. It is reported in the magazine ‘Reader’s Digest’ that last November, the statue was set up in the southern city of Montenegro of Serbia to advance the cause of harmony of the ruined and chaos country because of wars and race riot. It is said by the artist, who makes the statue, that Bruce lee is one hero accepted by both opposing race rather than other one-side accepted heroes. This hero statue to Bruce lee would of-course become a symbol of common love, and then, began to melt the conflict. This is the charisma of Bruce lee, a man deserving all our respect.
