这是ISSUE10 "Governments must ensure that their major cities receive the financial s
upport they need in order to thrive, because it is primarily in cities that
a nation's cultural traditions are preserved and generated."
以下是本人的第一篇作文,恳请大家指正!不胜感激!
There is a growing concern over the issue of the preservation of the
cultural traditions in major cities .The speaker in the title statement
advocates that the major cities must receive the finacial support as they
preserve and generate a nation's culture.I cannot completely agree with it
althrough it is somewhat reasonable.
First of all ,I must admitted that there are a majority of cities which are
characterized by their long culture traditions, such as Paris,London and so
on.For instance ,Triumphal Arch, which is famous all over the world for its
grand view. The magnificent surface of it shows the romantic traditions of
Frenchmen to the world. On the other hand ,as the most representative
building in Great Britain,Big Ben,in some degree, express the serious
character of Englishmen. Both of the two countries' culture traditions are
generated and preserved in major cities,as a result,it is reasonable for the
governments ensure these cities receive the finacial support.
Altough I agree that many major cities should receive the finacial support
for their contribution to the generation and preservation of a nation's
cultural traditions,I insist that it will not benefit some nations if their
government ensure that their major cities receive the finacial
support.Actually, not all the major cities of a country are bound to the
responsibility of preserving a nation's culture traditions.I can give you an
illustration about that.Shenzhen, a beautiful city which is next to HongKong
in southern part of China,is developing so fast in last 25 years that it is
called "a place full of gold" althrough a lot of years ago it is only a
fishing village of Guangdong Province. As one of the major cities in China,
this city should not receive the financial support on preserving the
nation's cultural traditions because it really has little cultural
traditions.
Moreover,a nation's distinct cultural traditions-its folk
art, crafts, traditional songs and customs are generated and handed in small
towns and rural regions.A case in point, in the USA, we can visit a large
quantitiesof Indian villages which retain some cultural traditions of
people's lives in the continent of North America in an early age.In my
opinoin, the government also should support these areas on finance in order
to preserve their cultural traditions. It is hard to imagine how serious if
the Indian culture extinct.
Finally ,from what has been discussed above, althrough there are some minor
advantages for the government to support the major cities for their boon not
only in economy but also in culture.,we can draw the conclusion that not all
the major cities should be supported as a result of the lackness of cultral
traditins in some of them,at the same time, the rural regions which preserved
the nation's cultural traditions should receive the support from the
government.
