关于是否推倒旧楼那篇 26
In view of the urbanization , modern planners suggest that historical places should give way to modern buildings. From my point of view , it is not a black and white question which need not case-by-case analysis. Razing ancient buildings without consideration will definitely lead to the loss of our history legacy.
First and foremost , the old buildings represent a valuable record of history. For example, in some old buildings certain famous persons ever lived, we can find out the life trace of them and provide large amount of information of their greatness. And some old buildings represent the past age. They reflect the life style of their forefathers and the level of their civilization and living standard at that time and show us the different customs in different periods. And it is also likely hat it was the place where the most important historic events happened so that it becomes the irreplaceable evidence to the study of that time. The old buildings witness the history of the past and are relevant to the evolution of human beings. Given the distinctive historic value behind the building we should take precedence to preserve the old buildings.
Moreover, many ancient buildings, such as the Summer Palace, the Eiffel Tower and the like , stand with their weathered but picturesque surfaces intriguing people's imagination of their past prosperity and fairy stories. We have to admit that they are not only the history carved in the stone but also an amalgamation of aesthetic value , architectural value, cultural value , and the historical value, which attract us to visit and function as places of interest leading to the economic profits . Consequently, there is no reason for us to replace them with modern buildings.
However, buildings in shabby conditions whose historical values are nothing more than ordinart buildings ought to be pulled down. That is to say, if the building , no matter how long their history is , is just a plebeian one of little historical and cultural values, we should make way for the municipal development by dismantling it. Therefore , to ensure both the effective preservation of the old buildings, which are precious heritage handed down from our forefather, and the need of modernization of the current society, we have to set a certain principle as the criteria upon which we decide whether a building is worth our effort to protect it.
In a nutshell, it is not appropriate to blindly move all the historical buildings, otherwise it means people are distaining their past and despising humanity . However, sometimes the old buildings should give way to the modern ones to meet people's material need. |
