我先来抛砖引玉一把，恳请各位高人指点

Topic :
A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

To me, I would say that the proposal of setting up a large factory near our community is hardly accepted. Several reasons are as follows.

Firstly, the construction of the large factory will inevitably make noises that could be a huge disturbance to our daily life. People who live in this community cannot obtain a tiny moment of quiet. In this way, they are unable to have a good rest during the nights since those big machines will keep running day and night. Consequently, the noises will, of course, be harmful to their study and work in the day and even to their health.

Secondly, some factories, such as chemical factories, will bring about air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution. All these kinds of pollutions will definitely deteriorate the quality of our life. There’s no fresh air, clear water and qualified soil for us any more. Not only will various health problems be caused, but also will have bad effect on our generations.

Finally, once the large factory is set up, it will recruit a lot of people to come here for work. The situation that a great number of people are gathering in our community will produce heave traffic, disorder as well as security problems. The safe and peaceful life in our community will absolutely be destroyed.

All in all, I would be one of the opponents to boycott the proposal of building a large factory in our community. Even though our town will be probably better off for the economic benefit made by the large factory, I still think the cost outweigh the profit to our community.
