提纲:
1. 基本否定
2. 教育资源有限
3. 学生兴趣和需求多变、短暂
4. 教育平衡。
5. 结尾

Some people hold that a truly effective education should be specifically designed to cater to students' individual needs and interests. In my point of view, I concede that students' interests and needs should be carefully considered to motivate them to learn, however, the education will eventually turn out not to be either feasible or effective if it is totally specialized.

Firstly, the limited educational resources determine that the main pattern of modern education should be primarily designed aiming the whole group of students, rather than individuals. The teaching ability of a school is constrained by the number of its faculty, labs, schooling spaces, and other educational facilities. The best way to maximize the teaching effect of the school is to generalize the education processes and programs to cultivate all the peer students simultaneously with basic knowledge, values, skills, and so forth. Otherwise, each student has different characters therefore different interests and needs, the school will bog down into an endless task of designing education for each student if it only pursues the way the speaker asserts, let alone putting the education into practice.

Secondly, we should be aware that students are still immature and inexperienced so that their interests and needs are often transient and easy to change. Children and youngsters might choose lessons capriciously without deliberation or well-arrangement. They might also drop lessons as easily as pick them. Even worth, they might avoid some basic lessons which they don't feel interest yet while are really crucial, such as mathematics. We could imagine that if totally designed to meet students' interests and needs, the education will suffer from frequent revisions made to follow the changes of students. There is no way for such education to be successful.

Finally, the contradiction that students' interests and needs should be neither ignored nor over-emphasized calls for a balance education. On the one hand, schools should make efforts to guide students to foster proper interests, thus to avoid the disadvantages that unreasonable interests would bring about. On the other hand, according to different aging phases of students, educators should design the education with different percentages of generalized curriculum and specialized choices. For example, the primary school students' education should be mainly given as a uniform curriculum since they are too young to have proper and consistent interests, while the high school students could be offered much more choices or autonomy beside the given curriculum as long as the quality of general education is guaranteed. Only when set with the proper ratio of the generalized and the specialized part, and the content of each part is scientifically designed and arranged, could the education be truly effective.

In conclusion, an education should be primarily generalized to attain effectiveness in the range of whole nation, meanwhile some choices could be offered and try to meet most students' interests and needs. A completely specialized education as asserted by the speaker would not only fail to fulfill its goal but also lead to enormous chaos eventually.
