TOPIC: ISSUE152 - "The only responsibility of corporate executives, provided they stay within the law, is to make as much money as possible for their companies."

Nowadays, the international Company is founded for the aim of the largest profit. Thereby as the corporate executives, someone may say that the only responsibility of them is to make as much money as possible within the law. At the first glance, it would seem that the conclusion is reasonable. Closer examination reveals, however, that profit should not and will not be the only obligation the executive must take.

Admittedly, no one will deny that the elementary object of the executives is to make profit for their own companies. The larger profit they make, the greater contribution they make for corporation, the better development the company will have. With the severe competitions between the corporation, Companies have to make profit as much as possible to sustain the daily production, the update of the facilities and the research of new productions.  Without the profit, the company can not deliver the employees salaries and sustain the daily operation, no to mention development.  At the same times only when corporations earn enough money did they return to society.  Thus, since the profit is seem as the preliminary term for companies, executives have the obligation to make it.

Although the profit is important one, it is not the only one the executives and the companies should pursue.  There are also many other responsibilities which are sum up to be said the social responsibilities executives should concern.  The profit, like the above mention, should return to the society, including endowing the money for public establishment, such as park, school and son on; helping the poor students completing their school work and prizing for the excellent scientist who contribute to the developments in all kinds of the field. In western countries, these endowing will not only increase the fame of the company and the sales of the production, but cut down the tax the companies should pay.  For example, the GM is the biggest companies and also the most generous one in the world. Such condition will win on both sides.

Also the executives should pay attention to the moral factors of the social responsibilities. When executives and companies pursue the largest profit, they may impair some condition of the society. For instance, the manufactories do pollute the environments around the locations, whatever the waste measuring up the waste criterion.  Executive should not take such things as granted that obeying the law and making the profit are enough.  Those are not enough!  The executives should take other methods to decrease the damage as little as possible, involving building the waste factories to reduce more the waste or setting a fund for protecting the surrounding environments.
These, in short long, can be seems as a loss, Nevertheless benefits in a long run.

Since the profit is preliminary need for companies, many people make a mistake that it is the only one.  They make neglect that the social responsibilities are the same important as the profit ones.
