想申请澳洲的博士，得到回信，请各位帮忙看下

However, before we can enter into a dialogue with a prospective PhD student, it is vital for us to have the student's qualifications (particularly their academic record) assessed by the University International Student's office

That is, before we can process your application and ascertain a suitable supervisor for you, you will need to contact the University International Students' Office in order to provide us with an assessment of your qualifications.   

All students who have obtained their under-graduate degree and research-based postgraduate degrees (in which a MBA may not qualify) at another university have to have their qualifications assessed.   

请问qualifications assessment 主要需要什么样的过程呢？
另外似乎在qualifications assessment之后才可以安排导师，是否可以先和导师单独联系呢？

就是做学术评估，看你够不够资格读phd，如果够的话，在细谈研究课题，导师。。。如果他们看你以前的学术成就成绩不qualify的话，就不用浪费时间和你多聊了

你可以发个email给University International Students' Office问这个qualifications assessment是怎么样，每个的大学应该有自己的procedure

If you have the prerequisites to get into the PhD programme and we know your final grade of your Master's thesis, we will probably begin to process your application and ascertain suitable supervisors so your are all ready to begin in 2007.

我明年硕士毕业，他的意思是只能明年答辩后才能申请？注：此人是该系研究生事务联络官，但同时也有导师身份。

目前我发了两篇国内的核心文章，做过两次全国性的社会调查，参与翻译两部学术书籍，我目前的导师是荷兰的博士，且在美澳做过博士后，请大家看看我申请博士有多大把握？

如果单独和那边的导师套磁的话，把我发表的文章翻译发送给他是否更有效些？

他的意思就是要按部就班，等你拿到master，看你的master成绩来决定是否收你了。the prerequisites to get into the PhD programme可能是指语言和之前的所有学历，然后就是硕士论文的成就，这两项都满足，才能begin to process your application。说白了就是要你和申请本科一样，申请offer。你拿到offer，再和你谈研究项目和导师的问题。而拿到phd offer的前提是完成硕士课程。

澳洲和北美不同，还是要一步步按照申请步骤来走，直接套磁找到导师拿到offer的可能性没那么高，似乎因为这里的还是follow比较固定的读书模式：bachelor(3年)---postgraduate diploma(honors)(1年)---master(1年)---phd(3-4年)。只有在honors阶段读的超好，比如半学期4门全A，thesis也很优秀，才能跨过master直读phd。你现在master还没到手，要直接申读phd的话，就很看重成绩，没有论文支撑就没什么说服力了。

首先感谢nzer的回复，:)我的所有研究生课程已经上完，总平均分89， 研究成果就是发表的两篇论文和部分学术翻译了，我目前所在的学校是国内top 20。如果目前和导师套磁的概率不大，那么目前我能作的是什么呢？听到很多建议是要想读博首先要和导师讨论课题，达成录取意向，然后再想学校提出申请，可是目前似乎倒了过来，是要先拿到学位才能提出申请，那么如此一来，如果我想继续申请，那么就不得不在明年面对一段真空时段，是这样么？请问nzer是否有申博经验？

意思就是告诉你按正常程序申请， 不用先陶瓷。
