The author asserts that the reputation of anyone who is in the center of the media will be ruined totally. I strongly opposed the author's opinion. It is the fact that common people are more interested in famous persons' bad behaviors comparing to the accomplishments and virtues of those famous persons, but the society still needs heroic person as the examples of the whole society.

First of all, common people really like taking notice of the bad side of those public persons, especially the ones who are regarded as the heroes of the nation or the society. Take Bill Clinton, the former president of the USA for example. When he was the president of the whole nation and taking many active measures to make and ensure the economy of America prosperous for a very long time, he has rarely been the subject role of the media for his great contribution to the nation. But after the scandal between him and Lewinsky was uncovered, he has been in the center of the media for numerous of times. Since then, he has been regarded as one of the most typical presidents, who were bothered by scandals. Hence, we can see the tremendous power of media in our daily lives.

However, there are still many heroes existed in our contemporary lives, who are also been the subject roles of the media. In order to get much more profits, media workers often put much more stress on the dark side of one public person, which is much bigger than the dark side deserves. But if the public person has no or few flaws at all, then, those media workers will have no idea. And often those sorts of public persons will be regarded as the examples of the whole society or nation. Jackie Chan is the real instance at this point. After several decades of efforts in the entertainment industry, he has been the leader person of the Hong Kong film industry. And many young actors take him as the model to strive for. Since landing on the Hollywood, he has been seen as the example of the whole nation's film industry. Although sometimes some bad side of his private life is uncovered by the media and many people criticize him, his reputation has never been ruined by the media. Even if under the media's scrutiny, he still does himself as a great film maker and a excellent actor. He is the best representative of the whole nation's film industry. Another example is on Bill Gates, who is the CEO of the Microsoft Corporation. He is undoubted the symbol of the Internet technology, which originates from America. Although he did not finished his school work in Harvard, which has ever been covered by media as the proof of his self-partial character, he is still regarded as one of the most creative persons in the field of softwares and personal computers. His reputation has not been diminished by the media because of all-directions coverage of him. There are many other illustrations in other realms, such as Liu Xiang, the holder of the world record of the 110 metres hurdle in the sports field, Premier Zhou of China in the political field and so on.

To sum up, it is actually that media likes covering and receivers of media like getting those misdeeds of other people, especially the public person. However, under the intense scrutiny of media, there are still many heroes, who are thought to be the symbols of the whole nations, having good reputations. The society needs these people as the examples and no matter how intense the scrutiny of media is, these people will always be the heroes, because of their characters. Their reputations will not been ruined by the media too.
