感觉找不到几个错误点,这篇文章写得磕磕巴巴的,希望大家一起探讨一下逻辑点。
TOPIC: ARGUMENT142 - The article entitled 'Eating Iron' in last month's issue of Eating for Health reported that a recent study found a correlation between high levels of iron in the diet and an increased risk of heart disease. Further, it is well established that there is a link between large amounts of red meat in the diet and heart disease, and red meat is high in iron. On the basis of the study and the well-established link between red meat and heart disease, we can conclude that the correlation between high iron levels and heart disease, then, is most probably a function of the correlation between red meat and heart disease.

According to the reasons listed above in this argument, the conclusion that the high iron levels of the red meat is the reasons of getting the heart disease seems relatively sound. However, after carefully scrutinized those links, we can still find a lot of aspects that the author overlooked which may indicate that the reasons are not persuasive.

First of all, the author described that the article about eating iron reported there are a correlation between the high levels of iron and heart disease which does not mean there are any causal relationship between them. Maybe the patients who got the heart disease always have higher levels of iron. or maybe some of them just like to eat red meat. Furthermore, the author overlooks the major reasons that might cause the heart disease such as which food other than red meat to be chosen, how often to do sport and family genetics problems.

Secondly, although red meat is rich of iron, there is no specific evident shown that the iron of red meat is the reason of the heart disease. Since there are a variety of elements containing in the red meat, it is possible that the heart disease is caused by other elements other than iron. If there is no evident shown the relationship of other elements and heart disease, the conclusion without comparison is improper.

Last but the least, the study of the relationship between the levels of iron and the risks of heart disease, or the red meat and the heart disease does not mention the subjects of the study whose personal living habit and health conditions. There are also a lot of foods are rich in iron. If some people also like to eat such food but not have high risk to gain heart disease, it may probably prove that the high levels of iron do not necessarily cause the heart disease.

Before the author make a conclusion about the relationship between the levels of iron and the risks of the heart disease, the red meat and the heart disease, and the whether the former is the function of the latter, more aspects of the patients condition who got heart disease should be showed, more examine of the links between other elements and the heart disease should be carried on.

这片A你写的有点乱,当时大家争论也很大,目前还是不清楚,我意见如下:
作者给出了两个关系
第一个关系是:high levels of iron in the diet --〉 increased risk of heart disease
另一个关系是: red meat --〉heart disease
他的结论是:关系high levels of iron in the diet --〉 increased risk of heart disease是关系 red meat --〉heart disease的某种程度上的对应(或函数)
这样我觉着逻辑错误应该是作者用:将概念diet与概念red meat 等同,将概念increased risk of heart disease与概念heart disease等同。
所以主要应该先攻击这两点,然后说那个调查有问题。
