这篇写得不太好， 为了限时思路都打乱了。清大家多指点。

Art involves a lot of areas such paintings, writings, music, movies, sculptures, even some of the buildings that really give the society something valuable. So some people might have such question: is it only the artist who gives society of lasting value? Although the speaker claims so, I partly agree the assertion. Not only artists. But critics also make contributions to the society and help to discover and maintain the value created by the artist.

Artist is the right person who originally creates the significance to the public. Without those artists who have more sensitive, broadminded and advanced points of views than the ordinary people. We should admit that the truly artist usually can detect the art's value much more earlier than others so that they are able to provide so many priceless works for us such as Hero Symphony composed by Beethoven, Sunflower painted by Van Gogh and Wars and Pease by Tolstoy. There is a professor of art department of my school used to make some evaluation about the value of the art and I paraphrased: arts help us to discover our life meaning, without arts, people just like lost their eyes to enjoy the beauty of the world.

Although arties indeed create the great value to us, so many of them cannot be discovered, admitted, or accepted by the mass people since they may too advance to popularity. Almost everybody loves beauty and enjoys it, but few of us can discover it until someone present them and tell us the beauty of them. Critics here acts as an instructor sometimes for they are also gain a lot of knowledge and have very sensible views to the truly art. When there is a nameless novice of art fields who has a work with great value but cannot get enough attention, the critics can use their own influence to impact the public, to notice them and to spread the work. For a artist who is already known to others, the critics are often very useful since they often make some objective evaluation and suggestion to the artist that may help those artist reconsider there works and perfect them.

Like not all the artist can create the lasting value to the society, not all the critics are able to do so. If the critics have some relationship with the artist whose work is judged by the critics, or if the critics are not professional and subjective enough, he or she may probably make wrong comments on the works and express the wrong information to the public. Even some meaningless art works can not make any contribution, even do harm to the society.

Critics and the artist can also be an artist at the same time. There are some artist who often makes comments on other artists and some critics who also create some significant works to us. So, Only if a person, no matter they are artists or critics, if they are able to understand the true meaning of the valuation that come from the art work, he/she are qualified to create, discover and maintain the lasting value of the art works to society.
