As the accelerated development of science and technology, the diversified aspects of our society, including the ethics and customs, are changing in a rapidly speed. The influence brought by technology has penetrated deeply into our daily life. However, at the time realizing its positive effectiveness, we should not exaggerate the impact of technologies on social conventions and ethics.

There is no denying that some of our lifestyles and customs have been changed radically and thoroughly, such as the way we spend vocation and communication. The invention of higher speed and more stable vehicles make it possible that we can travel places far from our living places even around the world. It not only shorts the time, but provides more choices for people to go where they are willing to. Changes happening in my family aptly illustrate the convenience. In 1980, my father, a business man, had to go to Russia to sign a contract with his Russian business partner. Although he could fly to Moscow, but limited by the scanty flights and expensive charge, my father chose train as his first vehicle like majority of business man of the temporal world. At last, seven days was spent on his journey. However, compared to decades ago, the advanced and cheaper plane allows him to leave for Russian in the morning, and I can share the tasteful dinner with my father in the night. To me, I can travel to a resort in two days in south China, which seems unbelievable years ago. Thanks to the advanced technology, our life becomes more convenient and efficient.

The new ways of communication brought about by electronic technology have transformed the way we associated with each other in our daily lives. The internet, connecting the world, provides us a platform to communicate face to face even thousands miles away. And because of long-distance telephone, chief executive official can gather information from his underlying stayed at around the world instead of gathering in a pointed place. How could we imagine our daily life without internet? Absolutely, a mess. Not only the banks will stop, what is more important is that people’s regular life will be influenced. Hence, our society can not move without internet, for it has changed our custom hugely.

However, referring to ethics, technology can hardly exert influence upon it. It is economical and relevant social relationships between people can have determinative roles. For example, regardless of the level of technologies development of countries, the basic ethics of human is honesty, humbleness, bravery and dedication for the benefits of majority of people are admired and cherished. The ethics was formed through quite a long period of time, which will be influenced by culture and other non-technology factors.

In conclusion, technology indeed influences our daily life much, and customs are have been greatly changed by it, similarly, technology exerts a dominant role in determining the customs on various aspects. However, technology could not determine our ethics, which affected upon precipitant culture and social concepts.
