Does the only responsibility of company leaders bare in money making for their corporations, provided they are legal? The speaker claims the solitary goal of executives should attain is profit. Conceded that the speaker neglects some appropriate responsibilities the executives should take. However, I insofar concur with what the speaker's assertion that the most important responsibility is to earn as much money as possible, while not the single aim they should pursue.
To begin with, profit is the most significant and essential goal for the executives to pursue. That is to say, the responsibility to maximize profits for the company is not only essential to survive and thrive of itself as well as living and profit of its stuff, but is also of great significance to the prosperity of the society. Firstly, from the social aspects, the more a company earns, the more taxes they will pay. Accordingly, more investment would pour to enhance the citizen's living standard, such as better public medical system, better education quality, etc. In addition, it would result in less unemployment as companies employ more, and consequently less commitment and other potential problems in the society. Secondly, in the era full of marketing competition, the more they earn the stronger they would be. In fact, the increasing profit made by the company may lead to more investment in open the larger market consequently making more profits. Thirdly, good income of company would benefit its staff with more wages and they would be proud of themselves in working in the company physically and psychologically. Therefore, we can deduce that it is crucial to place profit in the first place for corporate leaders.
However, executives, always being the representatives and the core of companies, should take more roles rather than merely pointing on the purpose of earning more money. Managing of the whole company, executives should pay special attention on the company culture, which defined as atmosphere to identity of the company. Staff of the whole company would work more efficiently and intensively in a harmonious company culture. One needs look no further than The Disneyland for example. In the company, from actors to gate keepers, every one is ready to serve customers enthusiastically. This is due to a culture in of the company: customers are gods of us. That is to say, based on the faith in mind, every worker in the company should act their best to when providing service to their "gods". The executives also bare the duty to keep the highest moral example in the company. Unless the executives' act be admired and regard as examples, the leaders can not authorize others deep into ones' heart. Suppose a leader pay too much attention on the profit to care about works' health and interests, no one would like to stay long in such company. Consequently, there are far more responsibilities than mere profit within a corporation.
Moreover, executives should also pay appropriate attention on some responsibilities to other social interests. Society, what companies made profit from, is closely related to each corporation. One illustration of this point is environmental considerations. As many industries are environmental contaminated to some extent, they should be responsible to its social affect and help to recover the harmonious environment. Further more, they are liable to make less contamination in the future. That is which the executives should take into account when making strategies. Therefore, companies should pay much attention on what happens in the society, and also take some responsibility of them.
To sum up, executives should take the most crucial responsibility to make as much profit as possible for their companies. Moreover, they should not neglect any other responsibilities to enable them for the better ones. Therefore, executives would contribute more and make more profit from what they make effort to. |
