It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the departmental committee on graduate admissions has decided to recommend that you be admitted in Spring 2007 to the doctoral program in chemical engineering, and be offered a teaching assistantship. The assistantship includes full tuition and fees coverage as well as a stipend of $20,880/year (i.e., $1,740/month for 12 months). Please note that the assistantship will involve some teaching responsibilities (e.g., assisting in labs) for a period of time every week. Note that if, after selecting your Dissertation Advisor, you are switched from a Teaching Assistant (TA) to a Research Assistant (RA), your stipend could be at a higher level.
