Issue50 CSMY作文互改小组】第二次作业
"Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

提纲:
1.      由于学生天性不同,需求和兴趣也不同,我们应该因材施教。
2.      但是因材施教是行不通的。教师应该教会学生基础知识或技能,让学生自己根据自己的特点发展自己。
3.      学生刚出生时,什么都不懂,我们可以进行统一的道德教育。

The speaker claims that education is truly effective only when it meets each student’s needs and interests. To most extent, I agree with the claim. The purpose of education is the preservation and enhancement of knowledge and the development of character within our given form of society which will best prepare the individual for the conditions of extreme novelty the near future is bringing.

Due to the inherent differences between individuals, the needs and interests of each student will be different. Some students are prone to account, while others do not. Some students are good at painting, singing, dancing, while others do not. if we provide all students the same education, education must not fulfill its purpose. If Edison worked in sports, all of us will live in the darkness until now. It is very necessarily to establish different scheme to fulfill each students’ characteristic.

However, after carefully examining, you will find that it is very hard to implement it. After all, the resource of education is limited. It is entirely impossible to establish hundreds of thousands of plans for every student. The duty of teachers is to teach students basics knowledge. Once these basics have been mastered, the student has the conceptual tools necessary to go deeper into any single fundamental realm or into interdisciplinary areas between realms. Teachers should guide students to obtain the basic skill. Then students learn by themselves.

Although the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically, education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals. Children, when they are born, are like a white paper. You can write everything on it. When they are young, we can give them the same moral curricular.

To sum up, although students are various, the general knowledge, the basic curriculum and the moral value can be transmitted in the same way. According to each student’s personality, we can establish some different cultivatable plans.
