Issue130How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how
to raise children who can help bring about a better society.【翻译】现在孩子的社会化程度决定了社会的命运。可惜的是，我们还没有学会教孩子怎么样去建设一个更好的社会。

(1). 教育的目的是让孩子在进入社会之前做好充分的准备，因为孩子的社会化决定了社会的未来。（道德观念，知识技能）教育在社会的进步和发展中发挥了重要的作用。
(2). 承认教育的目的并不意味着这些良好的观念和技能能被孩子完整而出色地接受，目前的教育还有很多漏洞，死记硬背，过分竞争，校园暴力。
(3). 现代教育要充分考虑如何让孩子尽可能在进入社会之前具备足够的能力，这不仅有利于孩子的成长，也有利于社会的稳定

I would agree with the speaker’s assertion that the society's destiny depends largely on children's socialization if there is no absolutism. To say this, the speaker must have ignored the fact that there are abundant other issues corresponding to the society's development needed to be considered. In addition, thinking that we have not learnt how to raise our children is groundless.

(1). 教育的目的是让孩子在进入社会之前做好充分的准备，因为孩子的社会化决定了社会的未来。（道德观念，知识技能）教育在社会的进步和发展中发挥了重要的作用。
Admittedly, the primary purpose of education at any level is to prepare children for tomorrow's society and children's healthy growth would be necessary and even helpful to society's development. Before children enter into society, we need to teach them the basic life skills and knowledge about how to make a living and how to perfectly interact with the outside world. This kind of skills and knowledge include moral standards and value system and theoretical textbook contents which, as it is said, would play an essential role on one's entering into society. We cannot appeal to those who once lived in distance and impoverished area and with no knowledge to develop our society, although on some circumstance they are dispensable, they have no real ability the society need except their low-cost labor. As chairman Mao once said:" the world is yours, you are like the sun in the morning". This does mean the importance of the children in today's society. How to cultivate children today will lead to how the society will be tomorrow. As the history shows that the cultivation of children in past decade actually act as the host of today, we need to par more attention on with respect to the great contribution to the society.

(2). 承认教育的目的并不意味着这些良好的观念和技能能被孩子完整而出色地接受，目前的教育还有很多漏洞，死记硬背，过分竞争，校园暴力。
Providing fundamental skills and utmost moral standard is a guarantee to ensure the children's healthy growth. However, to acknowledge the purpose of education does not mean this good concepts and excellent skills can be better accepted by those children. At the present time, national education system itself has a great many of disadvantages that we cannot and will not train our children in a perfect way. First of all, for example, distant village and backward region still overemphasize the ability of memorizing the contents of books even without understanding the central meaning. Stuffing with a lot of material and without digesting, the children will not acquire the basic learning methods that will be helpful when the children enter into society. And the methods of teaching teachers use are still those old ones which have been disposed many years ago in big cities. This will make the teaching in these areas inefficient. In addition, fiercely competition in big cities is also a problem. In order to obtain good performance and high scores, many students hold their books all day that results in little practice time and extracurricular time to foster their own interests. This also has a detrimental effect to their mental and psychological development. Always living under such heavy pressure will lead to a children's unbalance development that will make them unable to make contribution to society.

(3). 现代教育要充分考虑如何让孩子尽可能在进入社会之前具备足够的能力，这不仅有利于孩子的成长，也有利于社会的稳定
To our delight, modern education consider more than before about children's all-round development. This can provide them with sufficient abilities to enter into society. For example, the innovation of nine-year compulsory education implemented by all regions in China has achieved big success. It directs at improving the all-round abilities of children and making children to know they will be the owner of society in future. It also incorporates into not only school's effects and parent's effects but also communities' effects to teach them fundamental knowledge and basic moral standards, which will be helpful to children's healthy development and to the stableness of the society. So, saying that we have not yet leaned how to raise children is groundless.

In conclusion, children's socialization determines the destiny of future society. We should not only reinforce the fundamental education but also perfect advanced education to train more sophisticated people to take part in tomorrows' society constitution.
