How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.

The statement asserts that the level of children's socialization determines our future society, and we do not know how to educate children yet. According to this pessimistic assertion, our society seems no chance to get better. However, it is not the only factor which determines society. And whether the current education of children is successful or not can not be simply answered with yes or no.

Firstly, I concede that the ability of socialization of children plays an important role on future society. It is much easier to teach and exam how well the students have learned science knowledge. After mastering sufficient knowledge of certain subjects, it is unavoidable for students to facing the society at last. Lots of practical experiences and examples shows us that having sufficient knowledge does not mean to be welcomed and accepted by society. Some students encounter problems of finding a position because they do not know how to communicate and cooperate with colleagues, or they do not know the needs of current society.

Secondly, although it is important to educate children to be socialized, it still remains the weakness of current education. The reason why our education contains such weakness is that we have not realized the importance of it, and that educating students to be socialized are significantly different from other subjects. To understand a subject of science, we can cite the principles and theorem of it and then teach students to understand them; while there is no theorem to learn to be socialized. Considering the changing needs of society due to its rapid development, even teacher can not confidently claim that they can grasp the trends of society. Thus, this weakness should be overcome with combination efforts of teacher as well as students themselves.

However, besides the children's ability of socialization, there are still some other things to educate children which are no less weighted than it. Though important as it is for children to be socialized, other factors of education can not be neglected. Considering some kinds of jobs which does not too much emphasis communication with others such as literate, fine art, theory research etc, it is still possible to one to make contribution to society. For instance, a great writer and philosopher, Lu Xun, who was unsociable and unwelcome by his contemporary writer, enlightened people with his thinking of democracy and freedom.

In conclusion, the socialization of children gets increasingly noticed and studied by people, which might possibly exaggerate its importance so that neglect other essential factors. The right attitude towards this problem is firstly accept the importance of it, realize the weakness of current education, and then find a proper solution to it, rather than just give us a pessimistic conclusion which has no benefit to our social development.
