Does technology create more problems than it solves? The speaker claims so, especially science may threaten or damage the quality of life. I concede that abuse technologies lead to questions. Otherwise, in my view technology could bring about more matters, such as people have a convenient life and in good physical shape.

Admittedly, under some circumstances technology indeed brings some problems. People overuse the most advanced branches of science and technology to exploit natural resources or build a large number of factories, which could give rise to industrial pollution and threaten the environment, in order to create a great deal of money. In addition to these matters, in our daily life, there also have a conflict. For supporting example, in big cities, many residents have their own car. When they go to work or go home, there always take place traffic jams. That is also difficult to find a way to solve.

Aside from the foregoing some provisos, however, I fundamentally disagree with the speaker’s claim. Actually, there are various benefits than troubles. In Neolithic Age, the primitive man lived in straitened circumstances which they had to confront wild animals and use a long time to move from one resident to the other one. But as time goes on, we noted that a significant aspect of modern science is its contribution to the rapid pace of technological change. The technologies are applied to all aspects human life and hence are a major force in shaping and changing other fields except for the field of science. An example is the Industrial Revolution was happened, owing to the development of technology, people could use tools to go wherever they want to go, such as cars, trains, planes, they would not feel anxious about traveling, and in the past people were impossible to enjoy that.

Likewise, throughout most of human history, dreadful diseases like the bubonic plague have actually threaten people's health, even reduced populations. In England the plague, known as the Black Death, was responsible for a drastic drop in the population in 1348 and for the lack of population growth in the seventeenth century. In 1625 more than 35,000 residents of London died of the plague. As medical science progressed toward greater understanding of the nature of disease and its prevention, new public-health and maternal-care practices contributed to rapid population growth. In the second half of the nineteenth century, such discoveries as antiseptics and anesthesia made possible other life-prolonging medical treatments. From these examples, we realize the technology is fairly significant and help people have a healthy body. (用了孙远工具箱里的论据,不知在实际考试中算不算雷同呢?)

To sum up, while today technology may still produce a slew of problems, people will create solves to modern conveniences and healthy life with the advanced technology.
