Issue150 [总频70]"Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited. As a result, tourism will soon become obsolete."【翻译】由于电视和全球范围内的计算机网络，人们现在可以熟悉很多以前从未涉足过的地方。其结果就是使得旅游变得过时了。
提纲：反对作者的观点
(1). 尽管电视和网络的出现能为人们获取知识提供便利，人们通过它能了解很多外界的事物; (pictures and description by other people in the cyberspace)
(2). 但是，毕竟自身的体验不一样。旅游使人们更容易了解外部的世界，了解当地的文化和风情，同时还能锻炼自己的身体。
(3). 同时，电视和网络上的宣传同样能够吸引人们参与到旅游中来，从旅游中获得从所未有的体验，人们还可以通过互联网直接预订机票客房以及查询旅游路线，使旅游更有目的性。

The rapid progress in science and technology make it possible for two people even when they are in far distance to instantly communicate with each other because the distance between different places all over the world have been greatly shorten by television and worldwide computer connections. However, the much convenience of acquiring knowledge and information about other places doesn't reduce the enthusiasm of tourists to travel. Recent increasing tendency in tourism has shown that television and internet, in some extent, propels the development of tourism.

Admittedly, the great popularity of television and internet service makes it more convenient for people in great many to obtain knowledge and be familiar with the world outside. They don't have to travel to the place to see the beautiful scenes and learn the local culture or traditions by themselves, what they only need is to click the mouse and search the relic name. The internet would be replete with the information about the place even with vivid pictures about the scenes and detail description about the splendid history of important localities. So elaborate the description and information are that people even don’t need to travel there they have gotten a better understanding the geography of the tourist location through e-map, local culture and rituals through description on television or internet, or even the habitat condition of the local areas.

However, although television and worldwide computer connection can provide us with abundant information about the place we are eager to visit, the experience we obtain from practical tourism would be greatly different from the information and description which are told by other people or seen on the television or from internet. On the one hand, tourism can make one more familiar with the outside world and perceivable with the local culture and rituals. Unless we ourselves go to this place and experience the local life the residents live we would hardly really feel the greatness of the local culture, and without self-perception, it would be impossible for us to understand the local rituals only from textbooks. On the other hand, traveling contributes greatly to one’s health and can also relax one from the pressure of work and the boredom of one’s home life. For example, through mounting and cycling to a relic place, one not only enjoys the beautiful scenery on both side of the road but also practice a lot which would be healthy to one’s body, especially those who all the time sit before the computers. In this respect, the tourism can bring a great deal of experience that surfing on the internet and watching television would never obtain.

At the same time, the attractive advertisement and propaganda advocated by the television and internet are so tempting that more and more people participate in tourism. Because of the help of television and internet, it becomes more convenient for people to book air or train ticket, to inquire the optimum tourism routines and even the better service of the tourism companies. This would make one’s tourism more purposely and objective. The tourists would not be necessary to have to worry about the tickets and the accommodation situation before they plan to visit a place. The convenience brought by television and internet would undoubtedly benefit people a lot in future’s tourism.

To sum up, although television and worldwide computer connection have create great convenience and benefit people a lot when concerning tourism, but the information we obtain from television and internet would be hard to surpass the experience we get from the traveling. Without traveling by ourselves, it would be difficult for us to perceive the local history, culture, and even the rituals. Moreover, tourism provides great opportunities to do physical sports and relax ourselves from heavy pressure of work, home and even life. Therefore, tourism would never be obsolete as the speaker asserts.
