147"Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them."

The speaker contends that tradition and modernization are incompatible. I disagree with the speaker's view with a grain of salt. In my view, tradition and modernization are two different concepts with the same root. Not all of which are incompatible. We have to describe them with certain conditions.

Any traditional objects are use to be modern in certain period of history. The modern things which created by people is a sign which represents the changing of human thought in a certain history background. And the concept of value change gradually with the elapsing time as Modern things turns to traditional. The society developed with the progress of changing. If people stop creating one day, the plant of human being will face a colossal tragedy. In the past of china, parents make the decision for their son/daughter which one hi/she should be married to. And the young couple was not allowed to see each other until the wedding day. These tradition remains in china for thousands years. And then, with the fighting of increasing number of people, the tradition was abolished. The modern concept was accepted by the main number of people. Human society is developing during the concussion of tradition and modernization.

Nevertheless, tradition and modernization are not always against to each other. In the same period of time, both of them have an undeniable function to the society. There is a typical example to illustrate these kinds of situation. People maintain knowledge from books for thousand years. The evolution of human being are based on books from one generation to another which can be described as the magic way to be success. Nonetheless, in recent years, with the electronic technology development,  internet which becomes a very convenient method to gain knowledge spreads abroad episteme and information with fabulous velocity around the world. The latest information around the world spreads through the internet by computers every second. However, books give us the fundamental and systemic knowledge as always. We cannot say neither of them is less important. The function of which are both important to our lives.

Admitted, modernization contains various factors of tradition, because of which is developing from tradition. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish neither of them. When it comes to academic area, we have to refer theories and definitions which is a system no matter when they are discovered or created.  As the principle of creating a building, the third floor will be constructed on the second floor with no doubt, which cannot suddenly appear over the air. Every floor is based on the one below it. The building is a whole system as the theories in academic area. So, we cannot describe which one is traditional and which one is not.

In sum, it must be explained that these three reasons sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole, thus becoming more persuasive that anyone of them. So, any thinking persnmust believe that the developing of modernization is based on tradition. The main circumstance of the society is coexistence with tradition and modernization.
