I agree with the author insofar that in some realms of human endeavor, creativity or originality is truly based on established views and traditional mindset. However, with respect to nature science or other certain fields, some new ideas were truly original, even reject to existing theory system.

In the first place, original is the extension, synthesis or variation of old ideas, almost embrace what come earlier in certain endeavor.
