开头，英雄人物确实是一个方法但不是唯一的方法
论述  英雄人物反映了国家和集体的整个价值取向。 如，Martin Luther King     
     然而，有时候人民的行为和英雄人物是不一样的，还需要了解人民。英雄人物只是人们崇拜和欣赏的对象，有时候公众本身不具备这些品质。如，运动英雄。人民是社会的组成部分，只有研究人民，而不是英雄的贡献，才能知道整个社会的水平。
     最后，除了需要研究社会中的人以外，还需要了解社会的政治，经济，文化，教育，科技等情况。社会之所以称之为社会，就是因为社会中的人在政治，经济，文化，教育，科技中的作用，就是因为这些方面在社会中的影响。比如，教育，教育水平，这个社会是否有发展前途，后代的教育水平如何。科技，这个社会发展的程度。文化，这个社会的根基。政治制度，这个社会的社会规范等等。整体因素，全面把握这个社会的方向

As we all know that, none could live alone without communicating with others. So, it is necessary for us to research in the issue of society. Is it a good idea or the best way for us to understand the society by examining characters of the men and women the society chooses as its heroes or heroines? The author states so. However, in my opinion, examining the heroes or heroines may be an easy method for the purpose. Nonetheless, other methods are also needed to thoroughly recognize the society.

To begin with, the heroes and heroines stand for the fashionable inclination of the public. And if we could get the information quickly and easily just from the heroes and heroines, is there any necessity for us to waste time in quest of the characters of the public? Just take Martin Luther King, the leader of the black for example. If his followers didn't adhere to the faith Martin Luther King had advocated, could them follow Martin Luther King resolvedly? So, if we want to know exactly what these black were thinking about the discrimination and what behavior they might act, the easiest way for us is to examine their leader--Martin Luther King. Meanwhile, if we have the requirement to know which type of music the public are fond of recently, an efficient method is to know about the most famous and welcome singer. Thus, can we overlook the importance of heroes and heroines in speculating the character of society?

However, the public sometimes don't completely act as what the heroes and heroines have done. Therefore, studying the public is a supplementary to the method above. The heroes and heroines are just men and women the public admire and want to emulate, since the public themselves don't have these characteristics of the heroes sometimes. Consider the athletic heroes, who people choose as heroes because of the obstacle they overcome during exercise and the ultimate contributions in the competition. Nevertheless, can we say that general people all could make such contributions or can we say that they all have the abilities the athletic heroes involve? It is the people who consist of the society. So, unless we study the characteristic of the public, we could not master the whole level of the society.

What's more, besides the characters of the individual and the whole public, other aspects such as economy, politics, education, culture and technology are also needed in the process. These elements are the standard to evaluate the society. For instance, education, the cultivation of offspring, could reveal the potential development of the society; technology, such as IT and industry, manifests the contemporary situation of the society; politics, the framework of the society, could stand for the operation of the society; culture, the spirit of the society, could disclose the basement of the society. So, studying from all these aspects could give us a whole picture of the society.

To sum up, as what I have said in this issue, the method of examining the heroes and heroines the society designates is comparative an easy one so as to understand the society. However, to thoroughly recognize the society and make a whole evaluation of it, more aspects such as the public, the education, the economy, the politics, the technology and the culture should all be considered.
