235．"Most people are taught that loyalty is a virtue. But loyalty—whether to one's

friends, to one's school or place of employment, or to any institution—is all too often a

destructive rather than a positive force." [05/26; 06/4]

大多数人被教育说忠诚是一种美德。但是，忠诚－无论对于朋友、学校、受雇公司或任何机构来说，经常

都是一种有害而非积极的力量.
提纲：
1、忠诚是需要的
在人与人之间需要忠诚,比如朋友之间
在个人与集团之间也需要忠诚。
2、忠诚不能盲目
在人与人之间不能盲目忠诚
在个人与集团之间也不能盲目忠诚。

Some people may view that,as the speaker asserts, the loyalty both to individual or a group

is a more destructive than a positive force.I do not agree this point of view for its

extremisim.I prefer to hold the opinion that the loyalty is a necessary virtue in our daily

life while we should abandon the blind loyalty either.

For one thing,we need loyalty in order to develop the relationship between our friends

relatives and other people.For example,the loyalty is vital in the friendship.A close frind

is not expected to betray you someday and the foundation of the friendship is loyalty which

require the friends to treasure their relationship and take it prior to other beneficial

tempatation which will undermine it.

For another thing,loyalty is attached to the most importance in a company or a

country.Imagining what kind of people you will employ if you are a HR of a company.A

talented but had a bad record in terms of the loyalty or a not so gifted but show his great

loyalty to a company?It can be simply  revealed what the loyalty means to a company by

viewing the labor contract between a graduated sutdent and the company: as long as five

years to prevent them jumping to other corpatations ,which in the view of the company,

unloyal.

However,as the loyalty requires abusolutly obeidence to a individual or a group,it is more

likely for as to pursue a blind loyalty,which is the really destructive one.Between the

individuals, the blind loyalty is more likely leads to the break-up of the relationship.If

one of the 2 friends is committed criminal and he attempts to avoid the legeal penalty so he

ask his friend to keep this secret or he just ask him to do criminal deed with him in the

name of the loyalty.Then should his friend be loyal to him or to the justice?Without doubt

the latter one which will,on the other hand,bring end to their frindship.

To sum up,it is the loyalty ensure the harmony between people and society but this positive

force is also a two-edge sword which will reversly bring larger damage to us if we  

excessively trust it.
