It is self-evident that no man makes no mistake. For a scandal, it must involve certain famous person's misconduct or some shameless thing which makes a great influence to society. Furthermore, in our daily life, stories about people, especially scandals, can attract far more attention than some other things such as speech, political events. Therefore, scandals can be useful in focusing people's attention. However, a scandal is brought to light can make a negative effect as well such as distracting people's attention from more important thing.

Scandals, which can change a famous person's life, can supervise his or her behavior. Admittedly, under the media's power, on the one hand, famous people who are the concentration in public almost have no private space, it brings inconvenience for their daily life. But on the other hand, under this pressure, they must check their behaviors continuously, so that they can get recognition from people. Otherwise, he will suffer from people's severe reprimand if his scandals are brought to light,, moreover, his life will be changed drastically from heaven to hell, and it will be an untold suffering to him.

Meanwhile, scandals can increase both the law enforcement and inspection department’s duties and management ability that protect people's benefit better. In business area, some companies through producing inferior quality goods and selling a high price, swindle people's money, the worse is some food industries add toxic chemicals to the food for the purpose of making food look delicious that wrecked people's health. Such unsavory scandals exposed to the public can alarm people when they choose some food, increase the level of scrutiny and improve other business people’s responsibilities for the society. In political area, candidates expose their opponents' scandals each other in the process of election, although this brings negative influence, to some extent it regulate other leaders' actions and improve politics’ moral level. The case in point is Nixon’s “Watergate”, this event has a sober effect on public officials, after that they increase the level of scrutiny. In the research realm, some professions and researchers plagiarize other people’s study results or academic thesis, this dishonest behavior should be condemned. Last year, one of the top ten scandals in times was about study plagiarism. This attached importance to the researchers’ credibility, the quality of research achievement and the management level in academic circle. The officials in academia have reformed the management system, imposed the supervision and cut down the plagiarism behaviors.

However, some kind of scandals can not produce a desired effort, although they focus public eyes. The stars can explain this point, in the entertainment circle, almost all the stars have more or less scandals. Maybe media exaggerate or distort facts for attracting people’s attention. But whatever it is true or false, people merely take these scandals as entertainments or gogerous. In addition, exposing true scandals can not make stars change their misconducts. Because we keep tolerance of their misconducts and take these scandals as the condition of their existence. Furthermore, sometimes the scandals make negative effort. Perhaps the paradigmatic modern example is Bill Clinton, the former president in the United States, his sex scandal called public attention to the powers and responsibilities of legal prosecutors. Although it improved the power of legal prosecutors and the inspection to presidents, in the impeachment proceedings, some things distract people from focusing on more important things of increasing economics and lower the rate of unemployment.

To sum up, scandals are effective in attracting people’s attention so that supervise people’s misconducts and impose the scrutiny level of public organization in most realms. Nevertheless, scandals can make people regardless of more important things in some situations which do more harm than benefit.
