     As is known to all, the target of education is to teach student how to utilize our knowledge to solve the questions which appear in our daily life and in the future!  And the best way to achieve this is the faculties who spend some spare time to learn some curriculum-related knowledge then tell the student! In my point of view, if we keep a balance between teaching and working outside , it will improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level . The functions of this method can be seen from the perspectives as follows.
         First of all, an instructor working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses can impart the most useful information to their students .They can built a connection between knowledge and reality .In this way, kinds of boring knowledge can became vivid examples which can be understood and memorized by students more easily .As soon as student went outside of classroom, they can turn them into practical account! A computer teacher in our campus, due to his experience outside the university, can convey us lots of convenient and valuable method which can’t be found in the textbook! At the same time, all the students enjoy his lecture because of his vivid example. In a word, an encyclopedic instructor can not only make his lecture more comfortable and the knowledge being mastered more easily!
          Secondly, working outside the academic can enrich the instructor's knowledge and keep it renewed! Many notable teachers have the ability to assist us building a bridge between subjects! For example, our surgery teacher, who works as a doctor in a hospital, can help us to knit a net among anatomy, physiology and biochemistry etc. Meanwhile, we are living in a period of information explosion .Everyday, tens and thousands of information are added to every field so that even the most brilliant expert can't stop learning and say I have known everything! And only the teacher who works outside his academic field can learn the newest knowledge about outside and give us the newest knowledge which we students really are in need of!
         Furthermore, if the faculty only focuses on his own research and the out of date textbook, he and his students will just became a fossil in the ivory tower! The students apparently can't satisfy his boss because they know nothing except tons of equations that can't be used in their mind! And the practical problem will be too complicated for a dull people, who can't put all the knowledge which he has learned in kinds of subjects into practice, to solve! For instance, if a student have just learn all the knowledge which appear in medical books, he still can't be a doctor because a doctor should knit all knowledge into a net and master them to diagnose for patience who suffers from different illnesses.
         Admittedly, overemphasis on job experience will do harm to the teaching! Some experts spend so much time outside than they know little about teaching! Even isolation exist between them and their students .Sometimes what they told are too far form the textbook to be understood by his student.
         In conclusion, faculty should try to develop a balance between teaching and working outside the academic world! In this way, the lecture will became attractive and the final target of education ----convey the useful knowledge---will be achieved successfully
