提纲:
1、置疑it is well know可信度(少了大家公认的many问题)
2、置疑第一句study的问题
3、sleep apnea
The speaker gets the conclusion that people who snore have high rate to gain weight so they should eat less and exercise more, by the reason that they have sleep apnea frequently during the sleeping and cause brief wake, which may probably induce the tired in the day-time. But the causal relationship is absolutely obscure.
First, the speaker use the word "well known" to support his view as it represents the most reliable research conclusion according to the authoritative scientist. In fact, most things which are "well know" cannot even be trusted. For example, in ancient time, people all believed the earth is flat but in nowaday's view it's certainly wrong. so without proper evidence we cannot trust this so-called sleep apnea or its symptom.
Secondly, the data refered in the first sentence has not proved to be reliable. The basic information about the objects enrolled in this study is lacked. If the objects are mostly women aged 35-50, they may probably gain weight because of the increasing appetite of food and some other physical reasons.
Thirdly, even we concede it's correct, and sleep apnea does exist, it's still a problematic deduction. On the one hand, it is well known(since already suposed "well known" can be trusted) that there're myriad ways to gain wight, maybe snorers are mostly have some other ailments which could be the reason of gaining weight. In that case, even they get enough exercise and eat less, the situation obviously won't be improved. On the other hand, sleep apnea may cause tired in the day-time, as the speaker's statement, but it can't be sufficient to gain weight. People could get thin when they are tired in the day-time and cannot have a high quality sleep at night.
In sum, unless the speaker give out enough evidence to prove the reason of the snorers to gain weight is exactly their tired in the day-time,and which are caused by sleep apnea, I will not trust this statement.
