Since studying at the university or college never simply equals to pursuing a university or college degree, it is too narrow and extreme to claim that we could learn more by studying and reading on our own. Significantly ,we definitely gain more knowledges, form better characters and extend broader perspectives in the university or college to pursue our glorious and splendid future.

According to the statement, some people might agree that people could learn more by studying and reading on their own interests and they may focus on the fields they like , especially concentrate their spirits and strength on the key point. Furthermore , they could truly learn something rather than fighting with the papers and exams in the university or college ,pursuing the degrees and scores.

However, studying at the university has fairy broader sense than pursuing a university or college degree. Remarkably, the key point is what you think of pursuing a university or college degree, a method or a target ? What I want to emphasize is that the university is a paradise for studying and growing when you take pursuing a university degree as a method in order to study more and build a great future for yourself and your family. The university is also a hell for fighting against the exams and papers , when you take pursuing a university degree as a solitary target.

Moreover, studying at the university gives you more perspectives and deeper insights ,compared to your own studying. As we all know, there are more resources in the campus , frontier lectures and great lessons, fabulous libraries and fantastic laboratories, fierce competitions and respectful counter part ,which you would never experience without attending a university or college.

On the other hand, the university is a micro society to some extent, for you have to experience the complicated circumstances just as in the real society. Not only the teamwork spirits and leadership in your study group or football  team ,but also how to learn from your competitors and rivals , should you learn  and gain a lot in your campus life, especially learning how to be a gregarious , responsible and honest man /woman .

To sum up, whether pursuing a university or college degree is a way to success or a "happy" ending in your mind is quite essential for this statement. Undoubtedly, you will learn more with the enormous resources in the university or college than by your own studying. Hardly do you gain more knowledges , form better characters and extend broader perspectives without attending a university or college while studying on your own.
