TOPIC: ISSUE159 - "The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds."
WORDS: 375 TIME: 01:04:04 DATE: 2007-3-26
It is sure that the human mind will always be superior to machines.
First of all, man's brain is mysterious and is of infinite potential. It almost can accomplish everything only if we want. Observing the history of human, people invent things to satisfy human's need no matter how difficult they will affront. When we want to bake food, we create fire. When we need light in night, Newton invents electric light. When we fell it is too slow to work, we create carriage, bicycle, automobile and train. In sum, human can make any kind of machine to serve us at the right moment.
Secondly, machines are created by human. It is lack of the ability of study. In most instances, machines are only crusts. They will act as we teach them. They are in our control. For example, we can only use the mouse and the keyboard to control the computer, and it will work by our conducting. The machines in factories is conduced by the beforehand designed programs. Even in some times, we lose control of them; we also can restart them conveniently. Maybe there are some machines which can study something, but their study abilities are limit. A super-computer can learn form playing chess with man using certain arithmetic, but the computer is limited by the arithmetic, it can only work with the arithmetic and can’t beyond it.
Thirdly, there are several premises for machines’ working in the course of nature. Most machines, computers, cars, airplanes, lights and telephones, can’t work without electricity. Many of them must be started by man. On the contrary, man can do everything what he wants only if what he does is legitimate.
Finally, man is conscious. One has an awareness of one’s environment and one’s own existence, sensations, and thoughts. Man will have the consciousness of transcend others when he is exceeded, but machines will not have. So, maybe machines will have an enormous ability, but that’s only temporary. Man can surpass them with the consciousness of progress.
Overall, machines are made by man. They are only the produce of human wisdom. They have no consciousness and can not work without man’s help in most instances. So, the human mind will always be superior to machines. |
