Are tradition and modernization incompatible and mutually exclusive? And must we choose between them? However, according to my everyday observation, I strongly disagree with the speaker. I will illustrate my opinion as following.(简练,直接表明观点学习。)
To begin with,(好像段首这句话应该是pra.2-3的总括句吧,to begin with 不合适) tradition and modernization are not mutually exclusive and incompatible. They both exist to administer to human beings' needs. In this respect, they are both human's assistants. Taking Chinese New Year for example, this festival is the most popular tradition one in China. During this traditional festival, we Chinese people would get holidays and spend time to be(spend time in doing sth.)together with their families. The traditional food serves for this festival is dumplings, which have the meaning of happiness and richness. Also, assorted fireworks are employed to welcome this festival, which is explained by an old story to cow a terrible animal called Nian. Along with the development of technology(--)TV and media(—)came(coming), then came Spring Festival Programs very soon. And now when it is the evening of the last day of one year, we usually eat dumplings, and watch Spring Festival Programs, from time to time, hear the sound of firework. Thus, Spring Festival is either traditional or modern, and brings about favorable happy time. From this example, we may draw that tradition and modernization co-exist to serve peopleandto satisfy us, and they could not be incompatible. In the second place stands another instance, which wonderfully show the amazing cooperation of tradition and modernization; that is Cologne Cathedral. Cologne Cathedral, a famous cathedral stands in Germany, is a Christian church, which embodies its tradition, but also has the gothic architectural style, which has to do with modernization. At the first glance, we people usually are astounded by its breathtaking appearance-influenced both by Christ notion and gothic style. If we take a further study towards it, no one would deny it is not a wonderful marriage(非常形象哦) of tradition and modernization(三重否定哦,厉害,可惜意思表达反了). Meanwhile, such cases can be seen every where, it is an impossible challenge for us to numerate them all. Accordingly, tradition and modernization should not be mutually exclusive, and(but) compatible. Admittedly, sometimes tradition would yield to modernization or modernization gives way to tradition, which(指代前面的句子吗?可以这样用吗?) does not stand for their exclusive character to each other, rather to meet(exclusive and to meet 共同作stand for 的宾语成分吧,是否应该用meeting?) human's need. Concerning Chinese New Year again, in the past, the government did not prohibit people from employing fireworks.(不知道政府的限制算是现代吗? 另外好像也看不到yield to or gives way to的影子哦)However, now in order to protect environment, the government carry out new measures to limit where and when people can light fireworks, which is of great help to existence of human beings(这句话太大了吧? (感觉例子与这段分论点不是很相符合) To sum up, from what have been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that it is existence of human beings that determines the relationship of tradition and modernization, which is cooperative and compatible. In order to satisfy our people, making best use of them both would be the most favorable.
Human being exist
