这次没有限时,写了差不多一个小时。

TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

Only being specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, will education be truly effective. The speaker asserts so. But in my opinion, effective education is not determined by the results we get on our students, but also what we pay on them. Thus, I think the speaker's claim is too naive. Such an ideal education will do get the biggest interest, but not effective. And we can have effective education in other ways.

First, we admit that if we have education that meets every student's need and interest, each of them will get the biggest interest. One reason is that when we know what our needs are, we will try our best to meet them. Let's see an example. Given a student whose aim is to be a successful designer of clothes, knowledge on that area will be the first thing he wants to achieve so that a course focused on this topic will be the most important one for him. It is reasonable that he will get the biggest interest from attending this class other than else. The other reason is that interest is the most effective teacher. Everyone will show enthusiasm in his interested activity.

Second, such education will cost too much energy from our teachers, thus we will pay more for it. Since we know the individual needs variate from one student to another as well as the interest of each student, we should create different kinds of plan as many as the number of the students. Then the number of current teachers is far from enough. More teachers should be employed to manage to carry out so many plans. And the big classroom nowadays has to change into many smaller ones. A big school will be in need. More text books should be written for the plan. Then whether what we may get will worth what we have paid should remain dubious. The effectiveness which means get the most interest from what we have paid will not as convincing as the speaker claims.

Third, such an education is not necessary. To begin with, we should make the purpose of education clear. In my opinion, students should be led to find out where their interests and needs are and then learn how to meet the needs and make the most of their interests by education. In other words, education is a process of cultivating. There are so many dreams to be realized in one's life. Education which is prepared for a student's current dream will impede the student in managing to find ways to solve problems met on the way of trying to make the dreams come true. Though we can be sure that a student in such an education can get as much knowledge as he wishes, whether he can succeed in the following years will be unsure.

Fourth, we can get effective education which will be more reasonable through other ways. If every student will be armed with the ability to find problems and solve them on their own by education, the purpose of education is fulfilled. So, the kind of education will be favorable which will teach every students the methods how to achieve their goals.  What's more, in such a education system, we do not need special teacher for every student, and each student becomes more responsive on their own goals, who are more likely to succeed in their own career life. Then we get an effective education.

In conclusion, the speaker ignores the so-claimed education's cost and equates effectiveness as the biggest get. However, there is other ways which not only fulfill the goals of education but also reduce the pay.

(这个是我的疑问,这句话是什么意思啊.interest 做何义解?应该不是利益,而是兴趣吧。如果做兴趣解,那么这句话本身的推理就有问题了,凭什么说理想的教育一定会带来兴趣的最大。)And we can have effective education in other ways.First, we admit that if we have education that meets every student's need and interest, each of them will get the biggest interest.
