There are Hot peppers like the halapeno and there are incendiary peppers like legendary habanero. Now there is a new variety of thermo nuclear harbenio known as the TigerPaw-NR habanero. The name comes from its appearance--the bright orange peppers and both of tigher's paw. And the NR stands for nematode resistant. The pepper was bred by US department of agriculture scientists to be resistant to the nimoto round orange that attack the plant s roots. The pepper was bred conventionally not genetically engineered, and it does the way with the need to use the soil fuel against mesofuba which has been phased out. So how hot is the tiger pool harbonio? Pepper hotness is measured on something called Scoviel heat scale. A halapeno comes in about 5, 000 on the scoviel scale. The regular hobonero usually scores at least 100, 000 and the TigerPaw hobonero tops the Scoville scale at almost 350, 000. In fact, there is a legend that eating habanero peppers can have the side effect of actually making you deaf, but only, so that you cannot hear your own screams.

July 03, 2007: 60-Second Science
New Habanero Pepper Burns Nematodes And Your Mouth

There are hot peppers like the halapeneo, and there are incendiary peppers like the legendary habanero. Now there is a new variety of thermonuclear habanero known as the Tiger-Paw-NR habanero. The name comes from its appearance--the bright orange pepper resembles the tiger's paw, and NR stands for nematode-resistant. The pepper was brought by US Department of Agriculture scientists to be resistant to nemotode--roundworms that attack the plant's roots. The pepper was brought conventionally not genetically engineered. And it does away with the need to use soil fumigant--methyl bromide which has been phased out. So how hot is the Tiger-Paw hapanero? Pepper hotness is measured on something called the scoville heat scale. A halapeneo comes in at about 5,000 on the scoville scale. A regular hapanero ususlly scores at least a hundred thousand; and a Tiger-Paw hapanero tops the scoville scale at almost 350,000. In fact there is a legend that eating hapanero peppers can have the side effect of actuallly making you deaf; but only so that you cannot hear your own screams.
Happiness is from the fulfillment of heart, not the depletion of desires.

The jalapeño is a small to medium-sized chile pepper that is prized for the hot, burning sensation that it produces in the mouth when eaten. Ripe, the jalapeño can be 2–3½ inches (5–9 cm) and either red, or more commonly, green. It is a cultivar of the species Capsicum annuum. The name jalapeño is pronounced IPA: [hɑləˈpeɪnjoʊ] in English (ha-la-PEN-yeo), and IPA: [xalaˈpeɲo] or IPA: [halaˈpeɲo] in original Spanish (depending on dialect).

In fact, there's a legend that eating the habanero peppers can have the side-effect of(by) actually making you deaf. But only, so that you can't hear your own screams.
生活中不是缺少奇迹,而是缺少发现。

Great notes!  :handshake

Some more tidbits:

Jalapeño is a Spanish word where “j” is pronounced like an English “h”. This chili pepper comes from Mexico.

Habanero is related to the Spanish name of the Cuban capital La Habana, because apparently it had been found in Cuba when given this name  .

It seems like peppers are favored by people in the warm to hot climate.   :)

Re: The September 18th Clip

See if these suggestions help :

1. motley assortment:

固定字串(Word chunk

2. black cottonwood:

Cottonwood is one word.

3. which is way more than the 30,000 or so that humans have:

means which is a lot more…

4. And the poplar's fast growth makes them an attractive feedstock for bio-fuels:

Feedstock is one word, meaning raw material.

But, me hearty, if you truly enjoy torture, this be the ultimate killer—the September 19th installment of SA. Arrr!   :)
