TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

words:460    time:太长了    06/01/2007
--------------------------------------------

During a person's whole life, the education he/she received plays an important role in shaping his/her character and personality. Therefore, there are many discussions about the effective method of education. When focusing on whether education should be designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, I am inclined to support the idea that considering individual needs and interests to a certain degree will contribute the effect of education.

As is known to everyone, different people have different mode of thinking. Some students may be genius at born, whereas others may be somehow slow in comprehension. In that case, the indistinctive education will be unjust to both of these students. On one hand, the genius students sometimes will find it a waste of time in repeating the similar questions and practices and hoping to learn more, while the majority feels the pace fits them well. On the other hand, some students who cannot keep the teaching pace will be frustrated or depressed. Consequently, education without differences is unjust, which ignores the unique of students.

It will be of great benefit to adopt the idea of specifically designed education. First, it will help the students who have special interest in a particular area to achieve a better understanding of this area. As an English saying goes, "interest is the best teacher for everyone ". One of my classmates in high school is a good example to prove this. She loved painting and almost devoted all her time in it, whereas almost failed in every science examination and could hardly understand the way of logical thinking. She and her parents felt that continuing the present education would be helpless to her future. With careful consideration they decided to transfer to an art school, where she could learn more about painting. I heard that she had achieved a lot in art and had won an international praise the other day. If she stays in the former high school, she would be very frustrated and could hardly be as successful as today.
Consequently, education with the consideration of students’ interest can be more effective than the traditional way.  With the multiple choices of learning pattern, students can design their study plan better and learn more about where their interests lie.

However, since our education resource is limit, it is impossible and unrealistic to meet every student’s need. In the meanwhile, the majority of students who do not have a special interest in an area can take the traditional education, which can also give them adequate knowledge and help them succeed.

In sum, education designed for individual’s interest and meet can be more effective than the traditional way, providing the students a chance to learn more about their interests.

As is known to everyone, different people have different mode of thinking. Some students may be genius
at(in) born, whereas others may be somehow slow in comprehension. In that case, the indistinctive education will be unjust to both of these students. On one hand, the genius students sometimes will find it a waste of time in repeating the similar questions(questions?是不是learning) and practices and hoping to learn more, while the majority feelsfeel the pace fits them well. On the other hand, some students who cannot keep (up with) the teaching pace will be frustrated or depressed. Consequently, education without differences is unjust, which ignores the unique of students.

It will be of great benefit to adopt the idea of specifically designed education. First,(在后面没找到其它的方面呀) it will help the students who have special interest in a particular area to achieve a better understanding of this area.
With the multiple choices of learning pattern, students can design their study plan better and learn more about wherewhich their interests liein.

However, since our education resource is limit, it is impossible and unrealistic to meet every student’s needs. In the meanwhile, the majority of students who do not have a special interest in an area can take the traditional education, which can also give them adequate knowledge and help them succeed.

In sum, education designed for individual’s
interest and meet(?interests and needs can be more effective than the traditional way, providing the() students a chance to learn more about their interests.
