TOPIC: ISSUE43 - "To be an effective leader, a public official must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards."


A leader, who pursuits in diverse aspects in our daily life, playing a crucial role in the disciplines of economics, politics, advancements of cilivization and the like. Because of being a leader, he or she inevitablly takes responsiblity of ensuring social operations sercue and stable. I agree with the standpoint that it is nessary to maintain the highest ethical and moral standards for the reason that it is able to keep leaders from being addicitive to several negative temptations and otherwise being restraint of themsleves effectively.

High ethical and moral standards do help to carry out a relatively politic, just disintereted decision-making by leaders. It also can be imagined that if a significant soul leader concerned a lot about his own behalf, the outcome of a decision is undeniablly inclined to be unjust and sometimes arbitary. When the effect aggrandized to a certain degree, it may inenvitably causes dissactionaries of the public or otherwise some anti-government activities ironicly occured.

In the politics realm, official leaders always represent international status of a nation. They appear in many magnific occasions frequently. The acts conducted by them are regarded as serious national deeds. Relatively high ethical and moral standards are conductive to restrain themselves in such important situations and being avoided of mistakes not only by utterances but public behaviors. In addition, in my observation, there is another aspect should not be neglected. That is personal morality is unrelated to effective poltical leadership. Modern politics is replete with examples of what most people would consider personal ethical faillings: tha marital indiscretions of President Kennedy, for instance. Yet few would agree that these personal moral choices adversely affected his ability to lead. Social lives are dividen into different realms, some inculding the aspects of morality choices by political leader, they are equal to own privacy as others, when a descion of a leader deviated from world value status quo, it is unjustified to be critized in a serious way only because the status of him or her is different from others in a daily workplace.

High ethical and moral standards are helpful to prevent leaders from corruption. Because of particularity of their careers, leaders in diversified disciplines often face a lot of temptations. For instance. A bribe may occur if an elementary official expects to get promption. If there lackness of consciousness of a correct morality exsists, leaders are unaware to rule themselves and not being strict to rejection. Moreover, there are a few negative  aspects in leadership. Such as keeping paramours, defalcation in a bussiness corporation and the like. It can be foreseen that without ethical and moral satandards, it is definitely that our social lives may easily slip into chaos. And what's more, a credit crisis may come into being to our so-called leaders.

In sum, history informs us that effective political leadership requires adherence to high standards of public morality. Leaders as a symbol of a nation and her citizens. Not only are they respectful of their public but are as a servant for their people. They are requested to take responsibilty of doing a good job in a public occasion and handing over an excellent transcript of pursuits in their own realms. High standards of morality is nessary to rule our leadership and even standardize the process of life.
