Position: Technology may threaten or damage the quality
of our life, but it did solve more problems than it
created. We should be optimistic on this subject.

A. Technology has greatly increased the human beings'
power to harness the natural resources.(hydroelectricity,
solar energy, kinds of mineral)

B. Technology has improved our living conditions.(housing,
medical condition, traffic condition)

C. Admittedly, technology brought about many problem,
it just like a double-edged sword, we should use it carefully
and make sure it is under our control.

The video camera provides such an accurate
and convincing record of contemporary life
that it has become a more important form
of documentation than written records.

Position: video documentation will never take
the place of written records, they should
both serve to our human beings.

A. Admittedly, the video documentation does
provide us more vivid and precise information.
(the marriage video provides the couple more
beautiful memories; the video gives more
precise evidence than written records for
the crime judgment; the video can produce
multiple and enjoyable effects.)

B. However, video cannot be used everywhere
because of some limitations.(not all of the
people  can afford it; the video may can not
work as a result of short of electricity;
some historic information is recorded on
paper, and they are valuable and irreplaceable.)

C. We should realize the advantages and
disadvantages of them, and make full use of
them. (occasionally, we should both keep
the video records as well as the written;
make sure which way is better to the specific
case, then make a choice.)

The primary goal of technological advancement
should be to increase people's efficiency so
that everyone has more leisure time.

Position: The primary goal of technological
advancement should be to improve the quality
of our life rather than to make us work more
efficiently.

A. Undoubtedly, technological advancement has
helped to increase our efficiency.( computers
assist us to deal with some complicated
problems; vehicles abridge the time we spend
on the run; telephones make communication more
easy.)

B. However, nowadays people have few leisure
time than ever.( people have instant noodles
instead of household meals; people spend whole
day on computer games and get tired; the world
changes so fast that people have to keep on the
run to earn enough money to live on.)

C. It is our human beings rather than the
technology should be responsible for the
way of our life.

Because of television and worldwide computer
connections, people can now become familiar
with a great many places that they have never
visited. As a result, tourism will soon become
obsolete.

Position: tourism will never be replaced by
the arrival of virtual sightseeing.

A. Undoubtedly, the television and worldwide
computer connection have provided people with
many opportunities to learn about many interesting
places without spending a tour there in person.

B. However, traveling is far beyond sightseeing,
it has many incomparable advantages.

C. Tourism will not fade away, contrarily, it
may be hastened in the information era.
