It is unimpeachable that the development of science contributes the most on the progressing of the human beings. In the ancient times, wisdom sparkles may be gestated and finally given parturition by some great individuals without the help of others, many of the very fundmental classic theories and inventions born in this way, like geometry, philosophy, comedy and tragedy in Greece and gun powder, printing, compass and paper making in China. Nowadays, the unique minds still play an important role in science development, such as Newton's gravitation theory and Einstein's relativity theory. However, with the deepening and professionalizing in each science, the researches of groups of scientists are likely to yield the most overwhelming results. Therefore, I totally agree that the money spent on research is worthwhile. Regarding the controversial results, my opinion is that however beneficial or harmful it may be at present, it can enlighten us in the future.

First, I would like to discuss the importance of researches. Taking a panoramic view of the current world, no one can deny the truth that the more advanced technologies a country possessed, the more advantages it has. In the fields of commerce, leading technologies endow a company with better designs and features of commodities, they can also reduce the manufacturing cost and increase products' profits. Microsoft Corp.(MS) may be a good example in illustrating the benefits of top technologies. With the publishing of the first Windows system, MS encroached the personal computer software market gradually, now it almost monopolies the market and may sale a copy of Windows for thousands of dollars while reducing the manufacturing cost to minimum and raising the profits to maximum. It also puts lots of its earned money on the development of new softwares in order to keep the forerunning position. In a word, when MS held the most top technology of software, it is only a matter of time of its domination. In fields of military, better technologies are even more crucial. The warfare of the present time depends heavily on the control of air areas, and in order to grasp the air control, a country must have a great number of advanced jet fighters to eliminate enemy's air force, after that, the oppression of enemy radars and SAMs is indispensable too. Granted a country has several carriers and hundreds of jet fighters, it may have a great chance in winning a regional conflict and then end it politically. Carriers, fighters, missiles and even fuels, all of them can only be manufactured due to many successful researches.

Secondly, it is a necessity to invest money on researches. As we all know, modern science is complicated and involute, rare people can develop or even establish a science totally on one's own minds and hands. Since then, we need to occupy the scientist with apparatus and support them with funds. With the handy and accurate tools, them may explore the underlying principles thoroughly and then generalize them into science doctrines. With the backup of research funds, the scientist can lucubrate into whatever sections they are fascinated in, it is more likely of researchers to get fruition in the fields they are interested in. In a word, money must be invested on both apparatus and funds to assure the functioning of researches.

Thirdly, my opinion on the results(be they controversial or not)of researches will be presented. Many of us have the nightmare that some crazy scientists may invent demonic weapons and bring about the doomsday. However, even the most devastating weapon ever created--the nuclear bomb-- has its positive effects. We must not deny that the Manhattan Project finally resulted in the destruction of two Japanese cities:Nagasaki and , but decades later the study of atoms turns out to be a gospel science for human beings. Now hundreds of nuclear plants are set up to provide people with clear and cheap energy and help us a lot in confronting and solving energy crisis. In today's world, the most notorious but brilliant technology must be the clone. Many people claim that clone human is immoral and urge their governments to ban the researches of clone, while still some other people argue that with proper restrictions and technologies, the clone of human may become cures to many deadly diseases. No matter what future it may witness, through the research of clone human beings learn a great deal of knowledge of our own bodies, genes and molecules. Therefore my attitude is clear that we can always learn some mysteries of the nature through controversial researches, furthermore, the damned researches today are probably the holy ones in the future. As long as we endeavor to make the right use of such technologies and obliterate any evil thoughts without hesitation, the controversial results are not problems.

In sum, researches are essential to the development and modernization of a country, so we must spare no efforts in support our scientists and their projects. Admittedly, there may occur some results that we dare not acclaim and accept now, but we can hold the hope that it reveals some truth and may ultimately benefits us in the future. The results of researches are disinterested, it is human beings who use them, so we must utilize them properly for the profits of us all.
