成都 6月29日， 准备2000，心里比较难受

VO: Why do you want to go to US?

ME: I plan to pursue  xxx university’s master degree’s program in mechanical engineering.

VO: Why do you choose to study at xxx?

ME: Because xxx is my first choice.

VO: I know. But why is it your first choice?

VO: Its graduate program in mechanical engineering focus much on make medical devices, which is the area I want to get involved into as my career. The second reason the small-sized college of engineering (I stopped telling him reasons since he asked me the next question 正在我叙述原因的时候，我被打断)……..

VO: Do you work as a teacher now?

ME: Yes, I am working as an engineering teacher in XXX radio and television university. (Should I mention it is a part-time job. I regret putting this experience in my DS forms.)

VO: It shows that you have worked as a teacher since March 2007. It is just around three months

ME: Yes, three and half months

VO: Why do you want to be a teacher?


ME: I don’t think being a teacher has nothing to do with engineering. My long-term plan is to set up a machine design program and volunteer my professional skills working with high school students in my home state. In US, there is an engineering program FIRST which help those high school students who are interested in engineering develop their engineering skills. I plan to form a similar program in china.

VO: Why do you quit your last job? ( 在我的简历和DS表里我写的是，某某研究所，你觉的这个地方是否有很大的问题？)

ME: I have to quit my last job if I will pursue my graduate program. I think if one can’t do more for your job and your partners now, it is good decision for him to quit. (Should I mention that in terms of the rule by my last job, I must quit if I pursue my graduate program not only in other countries but also in china.)

VO: May I see your work certificate for last job?

ME: Sure

VO: your duty on the last job was about electromechanical design. Could you tell me some of your projects?

ME: Yes, I am in charge of electro-mechanical design. I do something basic. One of my projects was to design a leaf-spring tester for cars ( I mistaken to say for automatic).

VO: Any other projects

ME: something like lifting up heavy stuff.

VO: what will you do after graduation?


ME: I will come back to work in the engineering field with a focus on medical devices. The prospects of my desired profession will be bright. Besides, in the long term I plan to set up a machine design program and volunteer my professional skills working with high-school students in my home state. (关于他的表情 I can tell that he doesn’t feel agreeable about my career plan especially when I emphasized about my long-term plan the second times)

VO: So Temple will cover your cost for studying the graduate program in mechanical engineering.

ME: Yes I have been awarded teaching assistantship.

VO: I am sorry. I can’t pass you this time since I am not convinced that your working experience has strong tie with your study plan in US.

ME: I see. At least, thank you.

实际上大多数问题回答的还是没啥问题.
对具体专业不是很清楚.
不过看了之后感觉有两个地方可能是对你签证不利.
1, 既然你的职业规划是搞研究,从研究所退出而去当老师,这个看起来有点奇怪. 导致VO质疑你的目的.
2, 可能和VO说的一样. 对专业的联系方面..我不懂,不好评论. 不过electromechanical design和engineering还是有区别的..这个联系没有解释好.
成都目前比较严.
这也是没办法的事. 只能争取下次做的更好了.

We have the some same situation. So, I intended to give up a TA from the US and choose the full funding from the UK.
