I totally agree with the statement that history overemphasize individuals and ignore the mass' effort. Just try to remember what we learn from history, the names jump out such as Lincoln, Douglass, Martin Luthr King and so on. In the meanwhile, we should realize the contribution came from the mass.

In the first place, the individuals surly make great contribution to the advancement of the historical process. It is Lincoln who emancipated slaves and returned free to black people; It is Martin Luthr King put forward the black peoples' dream that one day children with different colors could have dinner in one table; It is Chairman Mao who saved Chinese people from aggression of empire and lighted a brighter future. All of those examples indicate that individuals facilitate the development of a society.

In the second place, while considering the greatness of individuals, we have no reason to forget the mass hided behind history. An ancient said that history is full of blood and tears. Without the sacrifice of the group, the support of the people, an individual is impossible to achieve his/her goal. Just imagine that when a country have been invaded by others, even if the military plans are impeccable, the fact that no one will fight for their country at a risk of losing lives makes the country in a danger. 我 Another example is about Napoleon, who always thought out his military plans at will and talked out in a breath, if not the secretary's agitate to write quickly what Napoleon said and try to remember what he said, Napoleon would lost many underhanded ideals. In this sense, some people said behind a successful man's back, it is a dedicated lady; I will say behind a successful individual's back in history, there are dedicated mass.

In the third place, even if the mass are very significant to history, for the recorders it is hard to record all this groups. Because they do not have obvious characteristics which are able to be recognized by others. In the meanwhile, the huge amount of the mass is not easy to write down. So in the current time, we often through the individuals analogize history.

In sum, if there is one day the development of technology is enough to search all the data about the mass, we will be much closer to the truth of history, after all, history is people's history rather than individuals, the truth should be revealed in the groups.
